I'm nearly 39 weeks and my midwife is convinced that I'm going to go into labour any minute, he's been fully engaged for almost a week and started moving down around week 36.
I've been doing everything I can to get something started like bouncing on a birthing ball ALL day😂 This is probably a stupid question but does anyone know the best position to sleep in when trying to get labour going?:/ I just feel like laying down flat all night is stalling all the hard work I'm doing in the day-__-😂x

I don't understand why midwives do this to people.

My first baby was engaged really early, that's totally normal for first babies, he was 2 weeks late. Arrived at 42 weeks, id tried everything in the book to get him out and still needed inducing.

Anyway, laying down will make no difference. The baby will come whether you lay down or not, and you have to sleep.

Midwives should know that a baby engaging is a good sign but it absolutely doesn't tell you that the birth is imminent.

I so hope I don't go over😭 I'm trying not to take her too seriously but I think she just said labour is imminent because of the other symptoms I've been having as well so I don't think she's based it purely on that. Thank you though!!xx

I was told labour was imminent and there was no way I’d go full term with both of mine... they were born at 40+6 and 40+2 🙄. I don’t know why midwives say it either, they really have no idea! I was told it again this time round, I’m just coming up to 39 weeks.
The baby will come when it’s ready, regardless of your sleeping position.

Oh and I’ve been having regular contractions overnight for 3 weeks!
