Can see movements but can't feel them?

Hi all.

I'm currently 28+2 with my first baby. I have an anterior placenta.

I can feel kicks and big movements easily, but smaller movements like swishes and rolls I can SEE but can't feel. As in, if I sit and look at my bump I can see the movement easily, but can't feel them! It's only if she does a BIG roll that I can feel it. She actually moves quite a bit judging by the acrobatics I can see going on, but again I can only feel the biggest movements.

Also, I had a private scan last Thursday and you could see her moving a lot on the screen, but I only felt one or two of the movements.

Did anyone else experience this? Not sure if that's normal with an anterior placenta.

Thanks Smile

Following with interest is im the same.
I'm 28+4 today.
I actually have been in a few times with reduced movements and I had a scan last week. Everything is looking great on scan, but I have to really sit and concentrate to feel movements-unless they are big ones.

Be thankful you don't get the occasional bend down kick. Not yet, anyway. Wink

@Lweji, oh, I've gotten a few massive boots! One yesterday was right in my ribs and took my breath away Grin

Yep it’s totally normal.
I’m 38 weeks. I have an anterior placenta too.
Sometimes I can think I haven’t felt him move for hours and then I put my hand on my stomach and can feel or see continuous little rolls and swishes and kicks.
I think the placenta must just cushion it slightly.
Obviously if you really are concerned that she isn’t moving then seek help but I’ve got used to it now and only have to concentrate for a short while till I feel something.
Before I got used to it and my babies movements I spent a lot of time panicking x

@MagicalCreatures, I'm exactly the same! I don't really feel her move much when standing up or busy, but as soon as I sit down and put my hands on my belly she's like a kick boxer! Slightly disconcerting to see my belly move but not really feel it!

I was just talking to my friend the other day who has recently had her first baby.

She had an anterior placenta and said that she too could see her belly move but wouldn’t feel the movements. She said that it used to happen more if she laid in the bath. Said it was bizarre but like you would feel kicks clearly. I listened with interest as I’m almost 16 weeks with my second baby and have an anterior placenta. I’ve just started to feel some flutters (I think)

Yes me!
I have an anterior placenta and was about 23 weeks before I felt anything. I'm
Now 35 weeks and some days are still quieter than others! All is fine though so don't worry - it's normal :)

30 weeks with an anterior placement and have experienced similar. Or sometimes I can feel movement on my hand if it’s lying on my bump but wouldn’t have felt it if that makes sense?
