Soda water with lime cordial or a splash of orange juice.

Try to keep as hydrated as possible. You need more liquid in pregnancy and dehydration makes you feel more sick.

Go to your GP, my lovely doctor told me there’s no medals for bravery in pregnancy. If you need help ask for it.

1Rose19 · 19/12/2018 18:56

Am 9+4d pregnant and I cannot eat or drink like I think about all sorts of food to eat but nothing the thought makes me sick .
I don't know what to do:(

ihatehoney · 19/12/2018 19:06

Take vitamin B6- it helps regulate hormones, the nausea is said to be caused by the extra baby hormones in your body.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 19/12/2018 19:27

Yes- by my third pregnancy I had cottoned onto the fact that my body had an issue with dairy. Not something I had ever noticed when not pregnant. Cut out the dairy- sickness vanished. Only wish I’d realised it for pregnancy no 1!

Laurasimone · 19/12/2018 19:52

So grim. I really don't envy you. I found sucking ice-pos or flavoured ice relieved it for a bit.
Good luck -really hope it passes soon

Noodella18 · 19/12/2018 20:01

Ugh, so sorry you're suffering - it's bloody miserable isn't it?

Very few things helped mine sadly, definitely not sodding ginger! Acupuncture didn't help at all and cyclizine just turned me into a zombie. I got a little bit of relief from:

A hot shower (slumped miserably against the tiles)
Never getting hungry (snacking every 30 mins)
Eating loads in the morning, like a full breakfast then a big lunch at 12, gave me a few hours of less nausea in the afternoon
Lying on the cool floor of the work toilets
Admitting defeat and just going to sleep

Also figured out that reflux was making the nausea worse, so got some omeprazole from GP, which was a godsend.

Fingers crossed it sorts itself out, I felt shite until 15 weeks but then it lifted quite quickly (apart from on public transport - always carry vombags!!)

canonlyhopexo · 19/12/2018 20:02

I had nausea from 4+2. Told my midwife when I saw her at 5+2. Told me I couldn't have anything. Started vomiting severely at 5+5. Ended up in a walk in centre after my partner found me in bed unresponsive with a cracked dry mouth and throat. Not to scare you but just go and get seen and get meds ASAP. I've also had lucozade at the suggestion of the nurses and that really helps.

Get some peppermint Gaviscon Advance - my doc said try this when I wanted some drugs to ease sickness, it helped loads and meant that I was able to get by without drugs. I went through bottles and bottles of it!

Time was really the only thing that helped Grin

Sickness started about week 7. Christ it was awful. All I could eat was bread, chips, crisps. Dropped 1.25 stone. I did get given tablets but I can’t remember the name- they didn’t help. I still look back on how I felt and shudder 😂 for me it wasn’t the being sick that was the worst but the constantly being nauseous. From the minute you open your eyes till the minute you finally manage to drop off. Good news was that it literally stopped overnight in about week 17.

Raabiakhan10 · 19/12/2018 21:32

Had sex on 12th December just two days ago and the past two days been getting lower tummy cramps which I don't even get when starting periods and my little hand finger keeps going numb sometimes while hand but always the right one.. anyone else had this xx

delboysskinandblister · 20/12/2018 03:44

Plain peeled bland boiled potatos and sipping water.
Nothing else worked.Gaviscon made it worse

Oct18mummy · 20/12/2018 04:48

Accupunture was amazing for me also go to doctors and see what they can give you don’t suffer

HermioneWaslib · 20/12/2018 11:51

Pom bears! No help for severe nausea but I'm having a packet in bed every morning and that seems to help somewhat.

DailyMailFail101 · 20/12/2018 13:28

Sour lollipops, swimming and fizzy cola I couldn’t stomach this now but when I was pregnant I couldn’t get enough.

henhelppls · 20/12/2018 13:44

Veteran of two HG pregnancies here. Here are a few things I did:

Crackers in every room, on the sofa, by the bed etc. Nibble slowly.

Icy cold Cola. I drank gallons.

Fruit Pastille ice lollies.

Unscented cleaning products/smellies.

Meds. Go and see the GP, you do not need to suffer unnecessarily. Ondansetron works 10x better than any other medication.

Sleep as much as you possibly can.

mumoftwo1988 · 20/12/2018 13:56

When for my scan and all is good saw the heartbeat 😀 took a bowl in the car I felt awful the whole journey... as soon as I got home i couldn't hold it. I also rang the doctors and they have no appointments till 28th which is when I'm seeing the midwife anyway. The wouldn't even book a phone consultation 😟 gonna ring again tomorrow tho I need something to take the edge off. The only thing that helps is sleeping (Don't feel sick when I sleep 🤣) but it's not easy with 2 kids lol

I know it’s not the healthiest, but I found boiled sweets to be brilliant. When I had one in my mouth, I properly stopped feeling sick. As soon as it was gone, nauseous again. I was teaching full time during first pregnancy and it’s how my colleague worked out I was pregnant!!

threekidshelp · 22/12/2018 23:31

I know it’ll seem an age, but almost overnight at about 15 weeks, I went from feeling sick all the time I was awake unless I was eating to having no nausea at all.

EdgesWedges · 23/12/2018 19:31

My biggest fear is going through all this sickness and it ending in another mmc. It's so hard just getting through the day feeling like this but if there is a baby at the end then it will be ok.
