Spotting at 10 weeks?

I'm 10+3 and so far have had a pretty straightforward pregnancy. I had a scan at 7 weeks which confirmed a heartbeat and although I'd had cramps, I'd not had any spotting.

This evening I noticed some light pink discharge in my underwear. It's very pale but I'm freaking out all the same. This week my nausea hadn't been quite so bad, so I was already worried.

Just looking for reassurance really. We're so close to 12 weeks and I've been anxious all the way. Desperate for it to be ok.

I bled at 9 weeks. It was also light pink with one big red blob at the beginning and it carried on for about 2 days. My midwife was completely unconcerned and put it down to my placenta imbedding. I was told to only come in if I soaked a pad.

None of this was particularly comforting to me at the time and I was worried sick until my 12 week scan. I found early pregnancy very worrying in general and paid for 2 private scans on top of the NHS scans which really helped reassure me.

Now I'm here 9 months later with my beautiful baby girl who never sleeps but is the light of my life! If you are worried, call the early pregnancy number for your hospital and check.

Spotting in pregnancy is fairly common particularly in the first trimester and doesn’t always mean there’s anything wrong. Had a couple of spotting episodes when pregnant with DD the first of which occurred the day before I had a scan booked. It’s completely natural to worry (I know I did) but if it’s not getting any heavier chances are all is well. x
