So I've read it's best to lay on your left.

Do you ladies managed to stay on your left all night??

Seriously struggling. Last night I couldn't sleep right or left and ended up on my back but almost sitting up with 4 pillows.

Is that ok?

I alternate from my left to my right. I find it really difficult getting out of bed if I lie on my right side though, as I can't haul my massive body over Grin I'm almost 36 weeks.

It's not recommended you sleep on your back from 20 weeks (I think) onwards, as it can interrupt the flow of blood to your placenta. As a very comfortable back sleeper pre pregnancy, I really struggled yo adjust and would find myself waking up on my back, but have noticed it can't really happen anymore.

I would say you're okay to relax on your back if you're propped up, but you can't guarantee you won't slip down in your sleep.

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy!

Sleeping on you back is completely fine. They say to lay on your left as it helps soothe heart burn and indegestion and also helps with blood circulation. Most people move around in their sleep so if your on your left when you dose off and on your right when you wake up then that's not your fault. I slept on my left most of my pregnancy because my heartburn was a killer. From the very beginning to the very end (typical I know lol)

Maybe look into the maternity pillows to sleep with to see if that helps? Then it can mould around your bump and provide more support. They can be a bit pricey aswell though so maybe look online and look at the price comparisons. As long as you don't lay on your tummy it should be fine. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy!!

How many weeks are you? You only have to avoid lying on your back in the third trimester, and by that point it’s usually fairly uncomfortable on your back anyway.

Thanks ladies!

I have a maternity pillow. My uncomfortable issue is my pregnancy carpal tunnel, my hands are really painful in the night but I find sitting up bring the circulation back but I'm bloody shattered so fall asleep that way.

3rd trimester sorry 30 weeks xx
