As I recall, brie is a no go.

What about those delicious brie parcels that get nuked in the oven? Surely no germs could get past that?

I'm having strong food aversion and only really want to eat shitty party food. SadBlush

I'm in that awful stage where everything is Shit and awful and I literally hate everything. Grin

Cooked is fine afaik

dementedpixie · 11/12/2018 18:51

You can eat cooked soft blue cheese. If you like hard blue cheese then that is ok uncooked

le42 · 11/12/2018 19:01

I’ve had baked Camembert multiple times yum!!

m4rdybum · 11/12/2018 19:33

I think any soft cheese is fine as long as it's made from pasteurized milk :)

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 11/12/2018 19:37

demented I thought Stilton was a no go too?
Gosh I'll have to revise - it's been nearly 5 years since I went through all this before. Grin

Thanks all. Will eat happily Smile

It's all fine if its cooked Grin I would cry if I couldn't have baked camembert for 9 months!

Oh FFS. Why won’t this myth die?

You are free to eat whatever you choose but if you want to follow nhs guidance then avoid soft mould-ripened cheese like Brie and Camembert, even if made with pasteurised milk.

Conversely, hard cheeses made with unpasteurised milk are considered to be fine, including hard blue cheese like Stilton.

OP’s baked Brie bites will be absolutely fine - any cheese can be eaten if cooked until piping hot and bubbling.

anniehm · 11/12/2018 19:46

If it's pasteurised it's fine - be wary of French cheeses as they tend to be unpasteurised.

I give up.

Try Port Salut - I found this a good substitute.

gimmeadoughnut123 · 17/12/2018 09:58

You can have it hot. Just not once it has cooled again.
I was craving cold brie on crackers, and wensleydale did it for me.

mortifiedmama · 17/12/2018 13:22

@m4rdybum you are misinformed. No soft mould ripened cheese is advised regardless of whether pasteurised or not but any hard cheese is fine (including unpasteurised and blue). See pockets link upthread.
