Anterior placenta - when did you start to feel movements?

I found out that I had an anterior placenta at my 12 week dating scan.

I’m 15 weeks tomorrow and I’m sure I’ve been feeling flutters for the past week or so. I had a midwives appointment today and told her about the flutters and she said it was unlikely that I was feeling movements yet due to still being quite early (although this will be my second baby) she said it was even less likely with an anterior placenta as it would cushion movements.

When did everyone else start to feel movements?

I have an anterior (33+3) and also felt flutters around this stage. The flutters became more prominent until feeling actually kicks at around 18-20 weeks. Everyone is different though and midwives assured me it's more than normal to not feel anything until around 24 weeksSmile

I've got an anterior placenta (first baby) and I started feeling flutters at 20 weeks.

I started to feel some movement at 23 weeks ish. First baby & arterior placenta. Mine feel like bubbles popping. I may have felt things earlier but I didn’t recognise what it was / to look.

I have an anterior placenta too and although I was feeling flutters from around 16/17 weeks I didn't feel actual kicks until about 22 weeks - my husband couldn't feel them straight away though and then all of a sudden they seemed to be really strong for both me and him. I think he felt the first one around 25 weeks. I'm currently 27 weeks and baby has been getting stronger every day Grin

This is my first baby. I felt flutters at 16 weeks and then some distinct kicks at 17 weeks where I could see my tummy moving. Then it became every day around week 22 or so. I'm now at 26 weeks and it's constant.

I was also told it depends on your build. I'm very slim naturally and don't have a lot of fat at all (my BMI is classed as borderline/low) and the midwife said that was probably why I was feeling it earlier than most people do with an anterior placenta. Given it's your second baby and you've got a better idea of what it feels like, I wouldn't be surprised if you are feeling movement.

My first baby had a posterior placenta and I felt movement at 14 weeks (my partner could feel movement at 16 weeks but I was super thin pre pregnancy) and with the anterior/low placenta I felt flutters at 16 weeks and proper kicks by 17/18 weeks. Was less skinny sadly pre pregnancy but partner could feel kicks by 19 weeks. Think I make super strong kicky babies though!

Ah thank you all, a real mix!

The placenta was posterior when having DD and felt flutters and pops from around 15 weeks with her which progressed to wriggles and then kicks by 22 weeks.

I’m not on the slim side anymore although I was when pregnant with DD, will just have to wait and see!
