Natural heartburn remedy?

Does anyone know of an effective heartburn remedy please? Gaviscon seems to make me sick!

For mild heartburn, love hearts or refreshers work well.

I find Rennies work better than Gaviscon (and also don't make me feel sick).

I ate almonds, had a little pot next to my bed would eat in the night and before bed really helped as mine was awful!

Gaviscon does work for me but another suggestion that helped me when nothing else did is tonic water. It worked so quickly and I was really surprised! They use soda in it which is alkaline, and quinine which is an alkaloid. So both help to neutralise the acid.
