Reduced movement 23 weeks

Hi, I was getting regular movement on an evening until recently. Babies heartbeat was strong at midwife and I'm still getting some movement. A few days ago I felt like baby had potentially moved as the pokes were slightly higher than usual. Now I'm not feeling as many pokes as usual and when I feel them they're much softer. Is this normal if baby has moved into a different position?

Any change of moments at all should be checked out to be safe rather than sorry, I would give your local maternity unit a call, they won't mind at all :)

Hi I'm 23+5 and definitely felt baby move in bed Saturday night to a different position. They've been breech so I get loads and loads of kicks in the bladder. From Sunday nowhere near as much poking kicks etc. Yesterday I was googling away should I be getting checked. This is what Tommys website recommends:

*Between 24 and 28 weeks pregnant
You should contact your midwife and they should see you the same day if possible. If they can’t see you, they may refer you to the hospital maternity unit. Your baby’s heartbeat will be checked and you will have a full check-up that should include:

•checking the size of your baby by •measuring your bump
•checking your blood pressure
•testing your urine for protein.
If your baby is smaller than expected, an ultrasound scan may be arranged to check on your baby’s growth.*

I am fairly sure baby moved so it's back was to my tummy and kicks etc were going to my back. I've been working from home today so with no distractions and having quiet baby was more active. I see midwife on Monday. If baby goes quiet again I'll be ringing her. Try a glass of coke some chocolate and lying on your left side.

It is always better to be checked.

Always get checked with any reduction or change in movements. X

Hi, sorry for delayed response. I ended up going to hospital as was so worried. They listened to heartbeat and she was kicking and moving throughout! I got home and felt her moving like crazy! Sod's law but at least she's ok! I was so worried. I think she just had a couple of lazy evenings!

Baby is still pretty small at 23 weeks and I’m pretty sure they say it won’t get into a pattern until around 28 weeks.

I’m not one to play movements down as DD was born at 34 weeks via emergency csection due to problems picked up when reporting reduced movements. But for the next few weeks I would just be keeping an eye and not getting too wound up. Have a look at the kicks counts website there’s loads of good info on there 😊

I'll have a look :) No one tells you how worrying pregnancy is :-/
