So I know this might sound like a really dumb question but for last few days I've been under a lot of stress stress from work stress from trying to complete diploma. Hospital visits for my youngest and myself due to illness. Stress from everywhere at the minute. It feels like we don't get a break everyday something is happening. I'm waking up in the night with nosebleeds. But i guess what I want to know is can stress harm baby in anyway I'm 28 weeks and today baby has not been as active as normal whether it's just because I've been rushed off my feet and haven't noticed much but since 4ish I havent done much and she's not really kicked or moved I've drank a cold can of pop and I'm currently lying on my left side but still nothing as of yet.

Stress should not harm your baby, but if you are experiencing reduced movements(regardless of what you think is the reason) you should definitely ring triage for advice now. Don't wait any longer to see if things change or for more posters to read this, call them now.

They would always much rather you came in unnecessarily than stayed away while something was wrong.

No stress would not affect the baby in this way. But if you have reduced movement please call your midwife or the hospitals

Nosebleeds are very common in third trimester especially now when the central heating is on. I wake up almost every night with one. Those are almost definitely not related to stress, even though they're quite scary to deal with. Trying using a humidifier and sleep propped up on more pillows. I find the more vertical I am, the less blood pressure there is in your nose (and if it bleeds, it's more likely to flow out instead of into your throat).

I read somewhere that stress is overrated in pregnancy. If it really were that dangerous, then people would never manage to have babies during wartime or in developing countries. Yet all throughout history in all countries there are healthy babies being born. I had a tough pregnancy (lots of scares, hospital visits, unexpected illness in the family) and it was impossible to avoid feeling down during a lot of it. But thinking about the baby makes me happy and I think that alone counts for something since she can sense that.

Though of course, please get checked out if you feel reduced moments! Around 28 weeks is when you might notice a sleep-wake pattern...I felt baby moving less at exactly the same times of the day during the third trimester so I figured those are her nap times. However those should only last 20-30mins at most, so if you feel nothing for over an hour or two then it's best to get checked out!
