I've been hinting on I'm feeling broody and wanting to start a family with my partner. I found out today I am pregnant and I'm planing on telling me and my partners family tomorrow. What would be a great way to tel them? Ideas? 🤰🏼❤️

I didn't. Mum figured it out when I was 8 weeks!

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 20:52

@Ilovealexa I always dreamt of it and would watch daft videos on YouTube and cry. I cannot believe it's my turn, I just feel on top of the world! 🥰

Good luck with your pregnancy OP :)

SenoraSurf · 01/12/2018 20:53

We're 5 weeks and have just ordered a bunch of gifts for my family as a Christmas reveal. Personalised gin glass, tshirt and a mug. Hoping to wait until Christmas where we will be 8 weeks but don't know if I'm patient enough and hate keeping a secret from my parents as we're so close! Xx

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 20:55

@SenoraSurf see you and I are the same!!
Too impatient 🤣

I spend Xmas with my family and my partner goes to his for the day. I was thinking of making presents with 'grandad and grandma' on for my parents but I cannot wait that long LOL xx

I opened my mouth and out came the wordsWink

I told my parents on my mum's birthday after the 12 week scan. I said I had an extra gift for her and showed her the scan photo. I thought she might be weird about it but luckily she was really pleased

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 20:58

Hahah 'happy birthday mam , you're about to become a grandma to my little baby' 😂❤️ beautiful xx

We went to the in-laws for Sunday lunch and my husband put an extra Yorkshire on my plate, commenting that I was "eating for two now". It took a minute for the penny to drop! I'm a fairly quiet person so didn't want the fuss of a big announcement.

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 21:03

@Tatiebee that's lovely and a good funny way to reveal it! Xx

Tatiebee · 01/12/2018 21:05

@LauraBrown1 thank you, we hadn't planned it as I would have chickened out if it was left to me to announce it so it was a nice, light-hearted way to tell them. Congratulations to you by the way!

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 21:08

@Tatiebee aw thank you love!
See I'm more the person who would want to plan an idea to revel it to them, as my partner isn't so much, he's just straight to the point! 😂 (plus I think also in shock from this morning)

However you tell them I'm sure they'll be delighted for you, what a lovely Christmas suprise for your families!

BackIntoTheSun · 01/12/2018 21:15

@laurabrown1 DH wanted me to buy a 'happy birthday nan' card as the way of telling her but I chickened out!

MashNpeas · 01/12/2018 21:17

I ordered a Christmas decoration that said 'can't wait to meet you live bump'

MashNpeas · 01/12/2018 21:17

*love bump ^^

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 21:17

@BackIntoTheSun that would of been so funny! I wonder if she would realise at first or thought you gave her the wrong card haha

DM asked me if I wanted a glass of wine (I was 7 weeks). I declined, she gave me a funny look and guessed!

bourbonbiccy · 01/12/2018 21:40

I went to the doctors as I had a blood test relating to something else and they had called me back.

My mum came with me, so we were unsure of why they had called me back and really worried they had found something horrible as I hadn't had a period for nearly 2yrs.

I walked out to where mum was in the waiting room and just said we need to go to the hospital. We got in her car and I said "I am 15wks pregnant and they are sending me for a scan as they think it may be eptopic"

So we found out and seen baby in 24hrs, it was a whirlwind of emotions, but once we seen DS was ok on the scan.....lots of happyness. Just glad she got to meet him before we lost her 💖💔💖💔💔💞

I was still a but scared of telling my dad, although I was 35, I felt 16 or something. We were just in the pub with my brother and I declined a glass of wine and said I wouldn't be having a cig either ....the penny didn't drop so just had to say it.

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 21:43

@bourbonbiccy awww bless you sweetheart! It must of been such a shock not realising it all but then finding out with other news too..
Are you planning any children in the future?
❤️❤️

bourbonbiccy · 01/12/2018 21:43

@LauraBrown1 sorry forgot to say congratulations and I love the idea of the Christmas present with grandma and grandad on. I would do that and just say to them " I seen this present for you guys but it just can't wait until Christmas " hand over pressies and then all have hugs, kisses and tears.....

Oohh there is such a lovely time ahead for you all, enjoy every second together xxx

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 21:47

@bourbonbiccy yeah that's my plan tomorrow if I manage to find a present in time as on a Sunday the shops close earlier and I want to be able to get round to my parents, nana and his parents in one day 😂

And thank you love. Like I said I was so shocked because I took a test this morning out the blue 💓💓

I put the photo from my 12 week scan in my mum's birthday card (the scan was two days before her birthday).

bourbonbiccy · 01/12/2018 21:51

I only ever wanted 1 and wanted it to be a boy and we waited a few years for him to come along. (Popped up when we least expected and had stopped "trying" )

I feel so lucky to have him, and it's amazing being a mum. Even if I wanted another I don't think I would now without my mum around. But all I can say is embrace every aspect of it all.

I loved being pregnant, even when I struggled getting of the sofa lol sorry I sound all gushy and that's not like me lol
Oohh it's just brill all of it.... Good luck and massive congrats

LauraBrown1 · 01/12/2018 21:52

@Clevs wow what a wonderful birthday suprise! I bet she'll never forget that one haha xx
