Help me pick a dog walking friendly pram

As per the title, I’m totally overwhelmed by the options and need help.

I want something that works from newborn, will work for walks along country trail type terrain with maybe some cross county or beach type stuff thrown in.

Ideally it will also fold down relatively small and easily (recognising that an all terrain option won’t be as compact as a city or travel pram) for storing in the car and house.

I’ll probably buy second hand should that change what people might suggest.

Thanks in advance

I have an uppababy vista...got it second hand on Facebook....I didn't know anything about the pram, just needed a second pram......but it's fab!

Babyjogger City mini gt - robust, manoeuvrable and one handed and relatively small fold. Lies flat for newborns or if you use it a lot, worth getting car seat adaptors or the larger carrycot (can buy second hand and barely used). Agree that the sling will be easier though, at least until you are all used to each other!

Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle would be worth a look too :)

Babyjogger city mini gt I think would fit the bill for you.

Nipper 360

Sorry it's uppababy Cruz I have not vista

MamaidhMathMath · 05/12/2018 19:49

Echoing the recommendation for the nipper, it's usable from birth, very light and has a lockable front wheel for rough terrain. Easy to handle even with a rambunctious spaniel dancing around.

That said, I use a tula carrier more than the buggy now - having both hands free is great, and there's a wee pocket just the right size for some poo bags

Also reccomend an out n about nipper. Its a brillant pram and really easy off road

wasthataburp · 05/12/2018 20:37

I candy peach all terrain 3 wheeler. I've walked miles and miles with my dog and child in pram. It will go over pretty much any terrain.

I like the mini jogger. Does what I need it to. I would suggest thinking about whether you would walk the dog and baby alone with a sling- if the dog gets into a fight or is attacked, injures itself or gets itself into a dangerous situation you can't do much with a baby strapped to you. I know it will be an unlikely scenario if you have a friendly, obedient dog but you can't always rely on other people having the same. Sorry to derail!

Out n About Nipper is by far the best buggy for everything you’ve described.

SpannerH · 06/12/2018 12:28

I think I am going for the Quincy Buzz.

The mountain buggy doesn't have a parent facing option. Not sure about the out and about nipper.

The Quincy seemed to tick all boxes for an off-roader.

Hope you find one that works for you!

I had a Quinny Buzz. It was terrible, neither sturdy enough to be that useful off road, or slim enough to be useful on pavements, shops etc. The buggy seat unit was very unstable on the frame too. This was 10 years ago, maybe they have improved since then.

Bugaboo buffalo here. It has been through woods, beaches, country lanes - through sun and rain. I love it.

Big front wheels that can easily get through mud etc. It’s also big so will last until DD is completely out of prams. Super easy to put up and down etc, loads of space in bottom basket. Parent or front facing.

My friend has the chamelon (not 3 though) and says she wishes she had the buffalo as the front wheels on hers are small and easily get stuck in mud.

Only downside is that it is quite bulky. Easily fitted in the back of our focus estate with a medium dog crate, but doesn’t go super small for storing indoors.

Phil and teds sport. It's heavy to lift into the boot but really light to push.
