Am I looking for things to worry about?

Sorry for the long one...
I posted last week about my worries. I had waves of back pain, headaches, blurred vision.

I was advised to take paracetamol.

The blurred vision has stopped. I get headaches but I wouldn't say they're severe.

I use a wheelchair full time, so things aren't straight forward.

My leg and foot are very swollen. A sock doesn't fit it properly.

My hands, wrists and eyes are also very puffy.

At my 28 week appointment there was protein in my urine.

A student midwife too my BP and said it was high. The senior midwife then took and said it was fine.

I feel like I am just creating things to worry about unnecessarily, but of course it's constantly in the back of my mind no matter how many times I tell myself to stop.

Since the last time I rang to speak to a midwife and was told "young girls get a headache and think they have preeclampsia" I've been hesitant to call them again.

I'm 28, so not exactly a young girl, and this isn't my first baby.

I'm doubting myself. Would you be concerned or would you put it down to just pregnancy symptoms?

In answer to your question, probably both. However, I really think you should pursue some medical help until (all things being well) you receive reassurance.

Ring again. And I hope you get a less rude/dismissive midwife this time.

I don't think the midwife's dismissive comment should make you doubt yourself. It's drummed into us to get checked out if we have any symptoms of pre-eclampsia and you know your body better than anyone else. If something doesn't feel right then always best to get checked for reassurance if nothing else.

It was worth not taking their answer.
I ended up ringing NHS direct for a second opinion and was told in no uncertain terms that I must be seen.

I've been admitted to hospital to try to bring my blood pressure down.

Sorry to hear that you've been admitted but you're in the best place. I hope they manage to get it down soon!
