Looking for some suggestions of "grown up" soft drinks to take with me to family gatherings, I get so sick of diet coke and orange juice which is what the staple offerings tend to be!
Thanks in advance

Third Fentiman’s aromatic tonic!

Bees Knees from Morrison's is really nice, it's fairly sweet and like a fizzy wine

KismetHardie · 30/11/2018 14:04

We found some fab dry organic pomegranate juice in our local international supermarket (label says Bogdan), we mix 50/50 with tonic water and a twist of lime. It feels like a 'stiff drink' iyswim-flavourful but not sweet, sparkling not fizzy. Serve in crystal tumblers if you've got em Wink

Drydrinker.com is really good for a huge range of non-alcoholic beer and wine. The best fizz I've had is Chapel Hill and you can buy it on there. Good beer from BrewDog, Mikkeller and more on there. I like Free Damm 0.0% lager too. There are lots of non-alcoholic wheat beers available in supermarkets and the non-alcoholic Budweiser and San Miguel aren't bad.

Another vote for mulled apple juice, it's yummy! You can use cranberry juice too.

I had a cherry kombucha mocktail at a restaurant yesterday and because kombucha is fermented it tasted pretty alcoholic. I love a bit of posh cordial with tonic water too.

I second the aldi prosecco comment. I tried the pink one last week and i actually preferred it, as its not as dry as normal bubbly

Michelle0507 · 30/11/2018 15:36

Aldi did the most amazing none alcoholic wine last Christmas. Tesco did a good one too - can't remember the name.

StargazyDrifter · 30/11/2018 21:09

Agree with lots of the above, personal preferences are the pink Fever Tree tonic, Seedlip (the green one) with ordinary tonic and Sainsbury's own non-alcoholic fizzy wine. Alcohol-free ciders also surprisingly good.

What I wouldn't recommend is an alcohol-free 'champagne' called something like So Jenny. Very pricey, meant to be top of the range and sold in the likes of Selfridges etc but it's honestly not as good as the Sainsbury's one, don't waste your money.

Non alcoholic wine
Non alcoholic Cider Kopperburgs

Fentimans Ginger Beer and Roses Lime Cordial
Lime cordial and soda

I don't like fizzy drinks but the Fentimans is just tangy enough to not be sickly .

I'm going to try one of the alcohol free sparkling wines - I don't drink by choice but I want something 'pretty' in my glass for dinner.

If you want a nice non alcoholic cocktail try a wavebender which everyone we have given to really loves. It is ginger ale, orange juice, lemon juice and a splash of grenadine (you find in the spirits Isle of supermarkets but is just sugar syrup) to give it the proper cocktail colour.

Virgin Mary all the way. It's so nice to have a non-alcoholic drink that doesn't taste of pure sugar. And it's definitely christmassy with a name like that!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 01/12/2018 21:09

I quite like a J20 or Shloer. Also you can’t beat fresh orange juice and lemonade

Littlegoth · 08/12/2018 08:17

Seedlip and tonic

WeAreSailing · 08/12/2018 08:29

Watching with interest. Have been dry since July and felt ok but must admit not looking forward to all the Xmas revelries.
Can't bear sweet sugary drinks and have OD'd on FeverTrees!

TickleMeEmo · 08/12/2018 08:31

Seedlip and tonic 🙂

WeAreSailing · 08/12/2018 08:34

Is Seedlip worth the ££?
