Wifi/Phone use during pregnancy

First time pregnancy here. Am I overreacting? I spend a lot of time on my phone for work which also involves a fair amount of travel, during this time I often watch downloaded Netflix, am on my phone doing emails, social media - online and on my phone a lot. I have read online that there haven't been enough conclusive studies to show how this might affect the foetus, but there might be risks associated with their development from the radiation (ADHD, Autistic etc). I have started turning the wifi off at night (my husband laughs at me but we are in an apartment and the modem is in our bedroom), but still sleep with my phone on my bed stand. Does anyone have any experience in high usage of phone/wifi during pregnancy that can put me at ease a bit. Am I over reacting or do I need to make more of a conscious effort to not use my phone as much?

I wouldn't worry about it. Pregnancy gives you the fear about anything and everything. Especially when it's your first. This is more of a mole hill than a mountain Flowers

Are you generally quite anxious and has being pregnant exacerbated it? Prenatal anxiety is really quite common (although much more is spoken of postnatal depression) and you might find chatting to your midwife and getting some support helps.

In Asia women will often give birth to kids while living next to pylons / 4G towers and the risk of MH issues is lower than western countries. The only thing with a credible link is sperm from older men but I’d even take that with a pinch of salt.

Thank you for the reassurance. My husband is 13 yrs older than me at 43, his sister also has two children who are autistic, so guess am just trying to understand what (if anything) I can to reduce any risk. Thanks!

You can’t do anything about it now. Just relax.

There is literally nothing you can do to reduce the risk of autism. Do not believe what some crazies say on the internet.

PBobs · 27/11/2018 00:21

Yep. You cannot reduce the risk - not based on any decent scientific research anyway. Please do not worry about this. It's a non-issue. Like the idea that using phones gives you brain cancer.

God I hope not! Spend more time with my phone on my belly now than ever before!
