Thanks everyone! Very exciting. I'll let you all know nearer Christmas whether you were all right with all these girl guesses, lol!

When they're older, they can identify as whatever and whoever they like in my opinion. In the meantime, even though they ARE little people, I don't think it matters whether I as their mother ask about their sex or their gender. You know what I mean and there is no reason to get on our soapboxes :) Peace to all, and goodnight for now!

Ah congrats. I'm 18 weeks with DCDA twins at the mo (and expanding rapidly). I think a girl as well, but I couldn't say why. I'm convinced mine are two girls even though there's nothing obvious on the scan - just a feeling. Interesting about the chances of being identical being that - I knew it was still possible, but thought it was much more likely that they weren't.

Squiff70 · 26/11/2018 19:13

@newrubylane - congratulations! Flowers

I had a strong feeling both our babies were boys until I read the comments on this thread, LOL!

Just bumping this thread... we have our private well-being and gender this Saturday, eek! I'm so excited but utterly terrified even though there are only three options, lol.

Anyoe else want to throw guesses our way?

Sorry, that should have said "private well-being and gender SCAN".

2 girls

Mammaof · 19/12/2018 22:51

Definitely 2 girls without a doubt x

Squiff70 · 19/12/2018 22:55

What's making you say two girls please?

Good luck! I have no idea what they are but I am a twin and have twins too! It's great.

charlyn · 19/12/2018 23:10

I think boy and girl

Mammaof · 20/12/2018 21:22

Can tell by the skull shape. Google boy skull shape and girl x

Squiff70 · 20/12/2018 21:44

@Mammaof - thank you. I won't Google as I want to leave it as a surprise for Saturday. I will come back and let you all know what happens at the scan though!

Squiff70 · 20/12/2018 21:46

I'm a bit confused though - you can see twin 1's skull shape on these pics but not twin 2's.

Any news??

lstef · 22/12/2018 21:16

Im also carrying twins but waiting til 19 weeks to see if sonographer will tell us at anomaly scan. I have no idea re: guesses but I reckon its 2 of either sex - it really looks like on the left photo that there is only one placenta, which means theyre identical (with a sac each) - the difference matters so make sure you get your consultants appts etc and they officially tell you if theyre DCDA or MCDA if they havent already.

I'm having DCDA and have got wrong info twice from sonographer and midwife, both said definitely non-identical but as a PP said 33% of identical twins are dcda (placenta and sac each). looking forward to seeing what youre having! :)

Squiff70 · 22/12/2018 21:16

Hellooooo!

Yes, we have news! The scan this morning went really well and both babies are healthy as far as they can tell.

Twin 1 is a girl
Twin 2 is a boy

We're absolutely thrilled as it's what we both wanted :) And yes, most of you were right about twin 1 being a girl!

OP posts:
lstef · 22/12/2018 21:21

haha totally cross posted there @Squiff70 - congratulations!

I'd love to have one of each (mine are also DCDA). have you had consultants app yet?

Squiff70 · 22/12/2018 21:36

@lstef - No problem! The private scan was amazing, couldn't fault them at all!

I'm under a consultant endocrinologist as I have Graves Disease but there's always an obsetrician with him. I'm not sure which other consultant you might mean.

OP posts:
lstef · 22/12/2018 23:14

@Squiff70 - ah ok, I guess obstetrician is what I meant - twins on its own becomes "high risk" and consultant led care but I haven't had anything from them yet about an appt so was curious, I would have been under midwife-led care until we discovered it was twins.
