Can baby’s sex be seen at a 14 week scan?

I’m having a 14 week scan in just over a week and was wondering if anyone has ever had a sonographer give them an inkling of what sex their little one is?

I saw (very clearly) I was having a girl at my 12 week scan 😊 She was a healthy 6lb 4 when she was born x

I found out with all 3 of mine at the 12w scan (am not in the UK though - I think the NHS doesn’t disclose gender so early but I assume you’re going privately).

I had a scan at 13+5 and the consultant asked if i would be finding out the sex of the baby. I said yes why can you tell?! And he said he could with 90% accuracy!

It depends on where you're based I think but generally the NHS won't tell you until your anomaly scan and even then some hospitals have policies that they don't disclose! No harm in asking when you're there.

Nhs never told me, actually my sonographer was a bit of a sour face lol. I googled how to tell babies gender at 12 week scan and watched loads of videos. Quite a few videos show you what to look out for, and I recognised straight away that the 3 parallel lines between the legs was a girl 😁

We were told the sex at our 12 week NHS scan. I thought I’d just ask the sonographer if he could tell just in case he could, and he was very confident that we were having a girl (later confirmed at 20 week scan).

Really I think it’s down to how much they can see in terms of the baby’s position and how confident they are about being able to identify the sex.
