Hi just looking for some advice please Confused

I am 34 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby. We found out at 20 weeks that our baby has Tetralogy of Fallot and since have had appointments with the fetal medicine unit and plenty of echos of baby's heart. Staff at fetal med now happy for us to deliver locally and have been passed back to local midwife.

We have a growth scan scheduled this week with consultant at local hospital and then to meet neonatal team after scan. We got a phone all today from registrar at local hospital confirming appointment for scan etc and then she said " we will make a plan for delivery". Basically what I'm asking is does this sound like plans for scheduled induction? Just curious as to why they have booked growth scan and then mentioned "planning" delivery when I was originally left to think I would go in to labour on my own after fetal med discharged us for the time being?

Thank you if you have read this far and apologies if it doesn't make sense Blush just looking to see if anyone has any similar experiences xxx

It will probably just be a sit down to establish where you’ll be delivering and how far overdue they’re willing to let you go.

I don’t think they’ll suggest induction unless they have a good reason for it x

As pp said, I think they will just want to discuss your plan, taking into account what care your baby might need during or following birth.

I can’t imagine a reason why, at this stage, they would want to be forcing an induction unless you have any medical complications.

I don’t think it necessarily means induction. It may just be a case of monitoring the baby more closely in labour and intervening more quickly if there are any signs of distress.

They might also want to have a paediatrician close by for delivery to make sure your baby gets absolutely all the care he/she needs.

Doesn't sound like an induction. More just that they'd want a plan in place for when you do go into labour.

My daughter has tetralogy of fallots so if you want a chat please feel free to PM me x

Thank you everyone for your replies Flowers

Had my appointment yesterday and at scan baby estimated at 6lbs 12oz currently and that was me 34+6 so now they are thinking of induction at 38 weeks due to baby’s size Shock

Got a repeat growth scan in 2 weeks and then they shall discuss induction date then, I’m so nervous!!! Xxx

A large baby with TOF is unusual, small stature is usually associated with the condition so our cardiologist told us.

DD was 6lb 1 and was 2 weeks late.
