Irratible womb?

I had an irratiable (sp?) womb when pregnant with dd2, which meant I was in and out of hospital from 28 weeks. I am only 20 weeks now and its started already, if I get stressed or over do things, it hurts.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I am full of sympathy. I escaped last time but I've had an irritable uterus since week 35. I haven't had to be admitted though, so it's pretty minor in comparison to yours. Mine's triggered by movement (mine or baby's), and going to the loo. It's a pig isn't it? And I don't suppose you're able to use a Tens machine yet, either

Sparkly - I know how you feel. I learnt what triggered it and it helped hugely because a) to a certain extent I could prevent it and b) I didn't panic every time I had a couple of contractions.

For me the things that would trigger it were

  1. Diahrroea/upset tummy
  2. Full bladder
  3. Lying on my back
  4. Not drinking enough

HTH....

Oh yes - baby moving and trapped wind/a big fart were triggers too.

What the bleedin eck is an irritable womb? Sounds awful!

tassis · 20/06/2007 20:05

i had this too first time round

in and out of hosp from 32 weeks

i found drinking plenty helped and I used my TENS on and off from 32 weeks

much sympathy!

When the baby moves, I feel my whole womb harden. Its hurts so much sometimes that it takes my breath away

an irritable womb is when you have contractions just by simple things like walking up stairs, getting stressed, baby moving etc

eek, never heard of that before - must be really worrying.

sparklygothkat · 20/06/2007 20:16

I hoped that it wouldn't happen again, but it started a few weeks ago. I have so may triggers, that apart from laying in bed for the next 20 weeks, I can't avoid it, even walking triggers it

Sparkly - try drinking lots and lots and lots. It dilutes the hormones which are released with each contraction making the next one a bit less likely/strong.

It might just help

will do SMS, thanks
