Septate Uterus - positive stories??

Hi all. Just wondering if there are any ladies out there with positive stories after being diagnosed with septate uterus? I'm pregnant (5w) for the third time off the back to two MMC both of which happened at 8-9 weeks after earlier scans showed a good heartbeat. I'm receiving good care but the general advice seems to be that I should cross my fingers and hope. Of course I'm trying to do this but from reading about the condition it seems that not only does it increase the risk of early miscarriage it also increases risk of late miscarriage, pre-term labour and lots of other things. Looking for some positive stories to help get me through! Thanks so much in advance.

Congratulations on your pregnancy op Flowers

So sorry to hear about your previous MMC. I have a septate/bicornate backwards tilting uterus and had MCs too, and I know how worrying these things can be.

Happy to report that I carried DD (now 15 yrs!) to full term. She was breech and squished down at the bottom of one side ifyswim but emerged (via C-section) unscathed. The only other issue was that we couldn't see her face at 20 week scan because of her slightly odd position in the womb. She was a really healthy baby though!

Good luck op and try to enjoy your pregnancy Flowers

I have a bicornuate uterus too.

Dd was in my right horn throughout and was born by elcs at 37 weeks weighing 6lb. She was breech throughout the entire pregnancy.

I then had a very early mc in June this year.

Now I’m 11 weeks along with a baby in my left horn and keeping my fingers crossed.

Best of luck with your pregnancy x

There is a YouTube person called missy lanning who had this. She had a mc and then a son where the baby was in one side and the placenta in the other. Then she had surgery to remove the divide and has had another child, maybe more I am not sure.

I don't have any experience of this but thought it might be worth mentioning this person if you wanted to look them up.

I hope all goes well for you and your baby xxx

Hi OP, congratulations on your pregnancy.

I had a septate uterus, which was successfully removed after having a Hysteroscopic metroplasty in Feb 2017.

Unfortunately I couldn't carry naturally with mine, as I'd had 2 MMC and failed IVF. So my consultant advised me to have this surgery prior to starting IVF2.

However 4 weeks after having it done, I went onto get pregnant naturally and DD1 was born in December 2017. I'm also now 23 weeks pregnant with DD2.

I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope you have a successful healthy pregnancy. Xx

Hi Niketan. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I have a bicornate uterus. I carried my son to 34 weeks and went into early labour. He was born via section as he was transverse lie. I have since had 5 miscarriages and a late term loss but I know the late loss wasn’t down to the uterus.

All my miscarriages were early losses. Around the 8-10 week mark. I’m now almost 20 weeks pregnant and hoping this is the end of a really tough time for us. There are positive stores. Good luck with your pregnancy.

My mother has this; after five years of treatment in the 70s she had me and my siblings. And I’m sure medicine has moved on since then.
