Overdue and fed up

Currently 40+2. Failed sweep on my due date. Literally no niggles at all.. done all the old wives tales which I know are exactly that but worth a try!
Booked in for an induction on Tuesday (41 weeks) and really don't want to be induced as I would like a water birth. I know I can refuse induction but that won't really work in my favour or make me feel better either !

Just having a moan really. Anyone in same boat? What are you doing to get things moving? X

Hey,

I’m now 40+11 and feeling meh. They couldn’t do a sweep a few days ago as the cervix is closed still. No Braxton Hicks or other signs things will be moving. Starting monitoring tomorrow, but no induction booked in yet. I am also keen to avoid induction for similar reasons.

I’ve tried everything, pineapple, spicy food etc and nothing has worked. The only thing I haven’t really gone for is sex!! It feels physically impossible at the moment!

I didn’t realise they induce that early? Thought it was around 2 weeks after due date.

Oh god u poor things, I can offer nothing but sympathy..
The end is in sight!!

ThatOneHurt · 15/11/2018 22:09

You can still have a waterbirth if you're induced.

Chester1980 · 15/11/2018 22:16

@thatonehurt hopefully it will be ok, I am just concerned that induction might mean more interventions, reducing th chance of a water birth. If induction works initially, it should be ok

Kt08x · 15/11/2018 22:20

I think it depends on the trust. Pessary or drip no waterbirth where I am! But yeah only allowed to go over a week here x

Oh no way?? That's not what it's been like in the three different hospitals I've had babies in.

Drip is a no-no but pessary shoudlnt make a jot of difference.

ThatOneHurt · 15/11/2018 22:30

Well I haven't had the third baby yet but I will soon and likely tonbe induced as well.

I understand your concerns, it worries me as well not being able to have the waterbirth for whatever reason.

Chester1980 · 15/11/2018 22:44

@kt08x I didn’t realise there were such differences for induction at different trusts. I hope it goes smoothly if it comes to it. I think I can still have a water birth with a pessary induction though.

I’m taking my hospital bag etc to the hospital monitoring appointment tomorrow just in case they keep me in. Once you get to this stage they ask you to go in every other day to keep an eye on things. I know a few people who have declined induction even at 14 days here. I’m so confused about what to do!x

Hey k Flowers

I’m fed up and I’m only 37 weeks, pregnacy is so long. :/

I keep getting Braxton Hicks and stabbing pains and wonder when my luck will be in but I bet i’ll go over too Sad

I wouldn’t mind being bit longer if I knew, it’s the not knowing. I have pains every day and they’re so uncomfortable, you’d think my body wouldn’t need to keep practising.
