Just wondering if it's normal to feel like this at 32 weeks?

I cry a lot, especially when I wake up in the mornings as I'm tired after a crap night's sleep, feel totally unrefreshed and usually feel sick too.

I've lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat due to the reemergence of nausea and the hell fire that is acid reflux, which no medication is touching.

Regularly feel like I can't breathe, especially after eating and then I start to panic which makes it worse. I'm also generally anxious most days.

Can't walk more than 5 minutes without having to sit down, walking up the stairs leaves me weak too. Waiting for the results of an iron test but my midwife said that my iron levels were good at 20 weeks so they would have needed to fall a lot to make me anaemic.

If it's this bad now how bad is it going to be at full term?! Anyone got any tricks and tips for getting through the last few weeks without losing my mind?

Sorry to say I’ve felt like this most of my pregnancy. I AM anaemic though, and your levels can easily drop. I’m taking spatone and eating salad every day. I nap whenever I can, but usually feel groggy and sick after it. I have antisickness too but don’t take them as they make me feel drowsy. I’m 38 weeks today, can’t walk or bend, and generally feel shite. I don’t have any advice only sympathise!

@JellycatElfie it's so rough isn't it. Maybe I do need iron then, hopefully find out the results today. I've got anti sickness tablets too been on them since about 6 weeks but I don't find them helpful at all. I've also felt rough all the way through too, it's shit. I think my emotional capacity for dealing with it was slightly better earlier on, now I just want to stay under the duvet and cry all day!

Honestly it’s awful. When do you start maternity leave? I’m a nurse so took holiday from 34 weeks. I’m 38 today and feeling really bad but I also have a 3 year old to look after who hasn’t slept all week and that isn’t helping either! I have a sweep booked for next week so hoping it works.

I’m 39 +3 and sorry to say it doesn’t get much better but you do find ways of coping. I’ve had awful acid reflux too but that does seem to have eased a bit as baby has dropped lower. Same with the breathlessness too. I am however now not sleeping much and baby weighs so much everything feels like hard work. It’s so hard to get comfortable too!

It gets much easier to deal with once your on maternity leave, I took annual leave from 36 weeks before my mat leave kicks in. Is this a option for you?

I feel your pain! I’ve been feeling like this for weeks! I’m 28 weeks with twins and feel terrible. I don’t have any advice just that we are in the same boat! Think of it this way, at least when baby arrives you’ll feel physically better in your body. With twins we feel 10 weeks more pregnant than we actually are so I’ve got ageeeees to go with feeling like this!!

Dandybelle · 09/11/2018 16:14

Could've written your post myself, except I have got low iron and have been prescribed tablets to take twice a day but they seem to make my acid reflux worse to the point I'm being sick acid. Which is about as nice as it sounds.

It sucks. Nobody gets it in real life. I'm 37+5 so hopefully not too long left.

Hang in there 💐

OP I feel your pain and have nothing but sympathy for you, 3rd trimester has hit me like a truck and I feel shitty both physically and emotionally, absolutely exhausted and regularly crying at work, gp has just signed me off for reduced hours which has definitely helped as knowing I only have to keep it together for 4 hours rather than 8 seems more bearable!
Don't be afraid to talk to your GP again if you need to and be kind to yourself, you can do this and it'll all be worth it in the end xx

Oh god, for everyone especially @CrazyCatLady1993 ! How you're managing with twins I have no idea. And those of you who already have kids to look after too! I'm not starting maternity leave till 37 weeks as I work from home and have a very easy job tbh but I am going to try to reduce my hours from 35 weeks as I can't concentrate and a few times a week I'm having to hang up on important phone calls to be sick

Really bored of seeing other pregnant women coping marvellously and doing yoga and hiking and drinking green smoothies when all I do is watch Netflix in my PJs and cry haha. Feels very much like my body is just shit at pregnancy!

I feel your pain too and I'm only 23 weeks!! Can barely walk from spd (which reared it's head at 9 weeks ffs). My job involves a fair amount of walking and I'm struggling with every step. Heartburn has started and I'm anaemic. So I know nothing serious, but enough to make me a bit miserable... and you know how they say misery loves company!!!!

But at the same time, I feel so so so blessed and lucky. This is an ivf baby.

The thing keeping me going is that I know this too shall pass and I'm holding on to what we get at the end!!

MunderDifflin · 09/11/2018 21:03

@physicskate I had SPD at 23 weeks, was agony and I was wearing a support belt, but saw a physio and followed the exercises religiously and it's all but gone now! So fingers crossed yours gets better. And congrats on the baby! I thought pregnancy might never happen for me so this was a shock/surprise and because of that I still find it difficult to believe it's real sometimes. I'm so thrilled to be pregnant but the whole thing seems so improbable that it's sometimes hard to remember why I'm going through it all!

I take biokult probiotics which have stopped my reflux. They are safe in pregnancy so worth a go if you're desperate to try something else. Hugs xx
