TTC #1 since May and I am now 6+2 according to doctor, 5 according to my Ovia app and when I ovulated. Hoorah! Apart from sore boobs and a late period, I have no symptoms yet.

The 12 week scan feels so far away, we're thinking about paying for an 8 week scan. Just to check if all ok - ie there's something in there. Interested to know if other people have done it?

Full disclosure, I suffer from anxiety, insomnia and have a history of OCD - all of which I'm arranging counselling for. I'm finding the fear of miscarriage is making it hard to relax into the pregnancy, which is a shame as otherwise I know I'd be ecstatic. I'm hoping having an early scan will help alleviate fears a bit and make it feel more real.

I am a firm believer in doing what you need to do to get through so if you think a scan will be a reassurance then by all means have one!

I've been given fortnightly scans in pregnancies due to recurrent miscarriage and with DS they were all fine but sadly in one subsequent pregnancy it wasnt, I am now pregnant again and counting down to the days to my next scan at 8+3. I have also had a MMC which wasnt picked up til 12 weeks at my scan and was left devastated.

A scan wont change any outcome but will reassure you OR tell you sooner than 12 weeks if something has gone wrong.
