Hi just after some advice, other people's experience. Had my 12 week scan just now, nuchal fold has come back at 3.5mm which is borderline and my head is hurting. Baby looked fine apart from this, they took my bloods to carry out the other part of the test. They will rush through so should have risk factor back on Thursday.

Anyone been through this with similar measurements?

I had a prev mmc so was stressing about that and thought today would be happy. I'm not feeling that happy sadly. They've said depending what I want to do I can ring them tomorrow and just do the cvs if I wish.

Ds had 4.2 mesurment. They called it a cystic hygroma.

They didn't even bother with the blood test and risk factor with us. They just said 50% chromosome abnormalitie, 25% somthing else, 25% normal.

We had the cvs a week later, the mesurment was by then in the normal range, and the test result came back normal. We did hope we were in the 25% normal, but ds actually had a rare genetic condition. He's two now and although it's been a tough road, he's amazing.

I know you probably don't want to hear this but even if your results come back as normal, be prepared that you could have a child with health problems or a condition. No one told us that, and as all tests and scans were normal and they kept saying they had ruled out syndromes, we thought we were going to have a normal child. It was only when he was born that genetic syndromes were even mentioned. I didn't know there were thousands of genetic syndromes that arn't ruled out by the cvs. It came as a big shock that I could have been better prepared for.

girlfrommars if you don't mind me asking, would the condition have been ruled out by amnio or could that have missed it too?
