Hello!

My name is Daryl Connor and I am currently studying an MSc in the Psycho-dynamics of Human Development at Birkbeck, University of London and the British Psychotherapy Foundation. I am based in Streatham, SW London.

One of the key components of the course is an infant observation, where I must find a family with a new born due in between December 2018 and January 2019. I must then arrange to observe for an hour every week for the first 15-20 months of the babies life. The aim of this, is to give a valuable insight into early personality development.

The focus is primarily on the relationship with the mother or primary care giver and all that’s happening in the development of the infants inner world, and the overall aim is to deepen the understanding of conscious and unconscious factors involved in early developmental processes.

All that is expected during the observation is that the baby and mother are at home during the visiting hour and carrying on as if the observer was not there.

I am currently exploring all avenues to find a family that would be willing and completely understand that this is a big commitment on both mother and family at such a precious time.

If you are interested or know someone that maybe, please feel free to get in touch or pass on my details and I am happy to arrange a telephone call or meeting to discuss in more detail.

Upon request I am able to provide full details of the course, contact information and a letter from British Psychotherapy Foundation to confirm who I am and what I am doing, should it be needed.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Daryl
