Counting kicks?

I know this is usually from 28 weeks

It says if there is a irregular pattern to call but my baby seems to kick all different as my work pattern changes.

For example I worked 7-7 the last 2 weeks and no movement all day but he went crazy at night.

I have this week off and yesterday he kicked practically all day and nothing all night or this morning.

Then next week I work 6 hours per day.

Basically as my routine is irregular will his he too?

And how do you track this?

Have you checked the kicks count website/fb page? Babies don't normally establish a routine until around the third trimester however any worries, please call maternity!
I took this off the kicks count website:
"There is no set number of normal movements. Your baby will have their own pattern of movements that you should get to know. From 16 - 24 weeks on you should feel the baby move more and more up until 32 weeks then stay roughly the same until you give birth."

Hi. Just wanted too add as I actually went to maternity triage for dizziness last night, but also I was concerned for movement. I've not noticed an obvious pattern & whenever I start to count they stop. She said same as above it's more about a pattern now, know your babies, know your body. For example it's quite normal not to feel much if you are busy, the motion of movement makes baby sleepy, like rocking. Once you rest & relax they will usually start wriggling in my experience. Basically I think your shifts will be having an effect so maybe don't focus on the time of movement but more once you relax and they start what is their normal.

I agree that pattern doesn’t necessarily mean certain times of day, for me it’s based on what I’m doing/what position I’m in.

So eg I always feel loads when I’m on my back on the sofa and when sitting on the train, but nothing when standing or lying on my side. It doesn’t matter what time of the day if you see what I mean.

ALWAYS ring triage if you’re worried though!!!
