Im not quite sure what to do?
They have 2 kids who stampede through their flat screaming at the top of their lungs, parents are no better.
Theyre foreign with bad english, so unsure if i went and spoke to them theyd understand properly.

I know people have to "live their lives" and can make noise etc im not naivr to that (me and partner have our fair share of arguments and he shouts at his xbox games enough) BUT whenever weve lived in an upstairs were atleast considerate of others and know certain times of the day to be quieter etc.
But when they start playing recorders at 6am and are still running around screaming at 10pm im loosing my paitence.

Im concerned for when baby gets here and the noise levels. And i mean for us aswell, i doubt well have a normal sleeping pattern.
I also know it wont be fun living above a screaming newborn.
So i feel if we establish something now itll be better?
I dont think they know how loud theyre being as man who lived here before us was old and deaf so no issues.

Anyone dealt with anything like this before? Feel like im stuck between a rock and a hard place haha

Do you live under the people the person on the other thread lives above? 😂

I think you'll have to speak to them as a start. Good luck OP, it sounds tough.

BruceAndNosh · 04/11/2018 17:05

You'll soon have a baby.
Revenge is sweet and noisy

You need to try and speak to them first. They might not even realise how loud they sound from your flat.

physicskate · 04/11/2018 17:59

And babies get used to noise. It's unfamiliar noises that startle them. In fact tip toeing around a sleeping newborn isn't what you want to do (no experience, only been reading).

If you are shouting at x boxes YABU. Running around and playing recorders are normal noises that children emit. It would be unreasonable to expect them not to. Not sure why your boyfriend can’t cobtrol himself though.

captainshortie · 04/11/2018 18:38

Im not saying they arent normal noises. Im saying the hours at which they do them isnt normal.
I dont even understand how they can run through the flat at the speed they do without hitting all kinds of furniture along the way :/
And "control himself" really? Youve obviously never played an online game which can get frustrating.
Id rather him do that than go out get stinking drunk and "not control himself" that way.

Ive said they probably dont realise how loud theyre being, and like I said i understand everyone makes noise and you have to live your lives especially when youre living in boxed housing BUT you have to be considerate of the neighbours around you? Dont think im being unreasonable at all. Not when we make noise during "normal" hours. I.e 8am until 6pm
And they continue until god knows when and start stupidly early.

When you’re an adult you really shouldn’t be dealing with it by shouting loudly enough for the neighbours to hear though!

Your neighbours sound annoying. You’ll have to try talking to them (understand it can be hard if there’s a language issue) and see if you can ask for quieter times, say before 8am and after 8pm.
