I am 11+2 - 11+5. Having problems with my jeans and also combat style trousers and have to keep undoing them. This is 2nd preganancy. With DS I am sure I didnt have these problems so early on. Have not really gained any weight (lost weight in first 8-9 weeks and have just put that back on).

I wore my non-maternity jeans today (undone, held up by a belt) and I'm 27 weeks with no4

these are low slung ones and with a tunic (also non maternity) I got away with it.

You are not alone Awen! (hows it going btw?)
6 weeks pg - needed bigger bras
8 weeks - jeans tight, top buttons undone when sitting down
10 weeks - only Next jeans and low combats fit (couldn't even do zips on other ones)
13 weeks - need an even bigger bra, even Next jeans are tight and combats have to sit very very low!
Just bought some smock type tops to tide me over the next few weeks so no-one can see jeans undone!

With DSs I went into proper maternity stuff around 17 weeks although used to use a safety pin to pin all the extra fabric so they stayed up!

I don't know whether I'm happy or not. For once in my life, being lardy helps as, at 11wks now and all my normal clothes fit as well as they ever did and my hooters were so enormous to begin with that they only feel heavier, not bigger so bras still fit.

I take it that, being lardy, it's quite alright not to be bursting out of my clothes? Feeling slightly worried now...

DS1 i was in mat clothes by 16 weeks.

I was still wearing them when I got pregnant with DS2, a year after DS1 was born [too many cakes emoticon]

The boob fairy had visited me by about 6 weeks, so the first think I had to do was go out and buy a new bra (M&S one - lovely). I'm 36DD normally so gone straight up to 38E.

I lost a stone and a half before getting pregnant, so thankfully I have lots of larger clothes that fit my jelly belly nicely - the only problem is that they look ludicrously baggy on the rest of me, but I don't really mind!

I'm going to invest in a couple of button expanders (apparently you can get them in John Lewis as well...) that will hopefully extend the lives of my trousers until I finally have to take the plunge and buy maternity.

I may have a look around mothercare tomorrow though as I have a day off and feel its a right of passage on reaching 12 weeks!

Have been using hairbands to hold my jeans together at the top...

mistresstara · 21/06/2007 15:10

belly belt

Ist time about 10 weeks, second time, about ten days!

LucyK1978 · 21/06/2007 16:08

I am 19+3 and wore my new maternity trousers for the first time a couple of weeks ago - they're wonderful! Most of my pre-preg clothes still fit but begin to feel a bit tight by the end of the day (but that might be the cake addiction!)

Does anyone else find that their bump is much firmer in the evenings? I'm slightly overweight normally, but find that the 'firm' bit of the bump is higher than where the baby is when I have the scans.

And even though my boobs have grown HUGELY and I have this big firm bump in the evenings, I've still not put any weight on the scales, which hubby says means either the scales are broken or it's a miracle, as my shape has definately changed!

Naetha · 21/06/2007 16:27

I'm the same LucyK - I'm still losing weight (having lost a further half a stone since getting preggers) yet my jelly-belly is staying resolute and refusing to move!

I don't see myself getting thinner anywhere else, so I do wonder where this extra weight loss is happening...

Naetha · 21/06/2007 16:27

Scrub that, I've worked it out - its my brain.

LucyK1978 · 21/06/2007 17:12

LOL Naetha - if we're counting brain cell loss then I'm screwed!
