Recommend charity shops for mat clothes in London?

Hello,
Can anyone recommend any areas of London that have a few good charity shops for buying maternity clothes? Or any particular shops that are good? All my work clothes are getting too tight and I can't really afford to buy new! Thank you!

Fara Kids have a few branches and usually have a small selection of maternity clothes in them but I've never found anything I like in my size.
Have you tried ebay? I've got a few seraphine dresses on there quite cheaply (£7 for one of them!).

Are there any NCT nearly new sales or Mum 2 Mum markets near you? Some people sell their maternity clothes at those. Mothercare, JoJo Maman Bebe, GaP in the sales. New Look do some cheap maternity clothing.

Thank you both, some good shouts there.. I'll start with Ebay..

The "Preloved Maternity & Nursing Clothes" Facebook group is good.

Have a look on Facebook marketplace for people selling stuff locally. You will often find a lot of mat clothes on there.

eBay is great for maternity wear, a lot of stuff is barely worn. The sizing can be quite varied between brands though so I'd recommend trying a few bits on in the shops to get an idea of sizing before you bid.

M&S have some great stretchy trousers- not maternity but they’re perfect

I have them in black and they look smart enough for work even though the fabric is stretchy

I second Fara charity shops. However the supermarket and H&M maternity ranges aren't too expensive, especially compared to what the charity shops may charge (generally only sold online though).

Facebook marketplace will have bundles pretty cheaply, it maybe high street stuff like h and m and new look in the main but maternity clothes don't get much wear anyway so I don't think that matters too much.

The more expensive brands (seraphine, isabella Oliver for example) tend to be on eBay as single items.

So it depends what you're looking for and what you do.

The trouble with buying maternity clothes second hand is that they tend to be worn to death- only the better brands last well

We have a second hand maternity/baby shop - all the baby stuff is fine but the women’s clothes look worn so I’d rather spend my money on new stuff rather than buy twice because it’s so worn. Saying that I have managed to get some decent hardly worn stuff on eBay- but it’s a lot of effort search through all the crap!

The exception is evening dresses which rarely get worn

Someone said maternity clothes don’t get much wear- sorry but I disagree! Most women have a small maternity wardrobe and wear three outfits on constant rotation- usually before and long after baby- especially items which double up as nursing wear. My new maternity clothes looked so bad by the end that I had to bin - and they were all JoJo
