So I'm 13 weeks pregnant and have been feeling nauseous since before the line ever appeared on my pregnancy test.

I was expecting it to be a lot better by now, but no.

I was so unbelievably tired during the early weeks that I phoned my doctor, certain something was wrong. She told me to woman up.

At 8 weeks, I had a midnight dash to a&e with what could either have been appendicitis or an ectopic pregnancy. It was a kidney infection. So no wonder I'd been feeling rotten.

I throw up most days. Multiple times a day.

12 week scan didn't go to plan and am dealing with the fallout of this and trying to get NHS to fall in line with the private scan I had to get due to their incompetence.

I've missed so much work that I've run out of sick days and an now going to be broke for the foreseeable.

And now, I think I've got another UTI, I can't move for fear of vomiting, and to top it all off, my DH has given me a Twix which I've only gone and bloody lost Hmm

I didn't post this in AIBU because I know I am. I'm super excited about baby. But seriously - I naively imagined I'd be eating healthily, doing Pilates 5 nights per week, and going on lovely shopping trips with my mum on weekends.

Anyone else want to rant about anything?

@Unicornandbows not that pregnancy ever makes us irrational... No, not at all

I don't even usually drink shloer but that moment it was an absolute necessity and the big crocodile tears was proof it was a matter of life and death lol

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 01/11/2018 16:30

Unicornandbows haha oh dear! Maybe send DH out to buy some in bulk do running out isn’t possible... Unless you develop some kind of shloer addiction and can drink bottle after bottle...

RANT:

ABU for the TMI but I'm fed up of being so friggin constipated and when I can finally go, it's painful cos of effing piles.
I'm 12 weeks... PILES!!!!!

There is nothing instagramable about this pregnancy. I look ill, I haven't slept through the night since September and daily nausea/vomiting is sucking the soul from me. I'm also spotty like my former 16 year old self.

On a brighter note, it's Friday tomorrow and I hope my shitty mood today does one!

Firstbornunicorn · 01/11/2018 19:52

@Thismummyruns I'm sorry that things are so hard for you (sometimes literally, amiright?) But I applaud your willingness to join in on a good, old-fashioned rant sesh!!

Hopefully things pick up soon.

Btw I also look very scary at the moment. I started to explain that I was feeling crap to my GP, and he was like, "you look pretty rough". It was said sympathetically so I wasn't pissed off. Sometimes it's nice to have the validation of looking crap too, so others don't think you're milking it or something

26 weeks here. I cried hysterically in the bathroom yesterday because I just feel as though I'm crap at being pregnant. Horrendous morning sickness until 16 weeks which was replaced by SPD. Apparently it's a big baby - according to the 20 week scan. I'm in agony all the time and especially getting up in the night. I've also had recurrent migraines (now mainly silent) for the last month. We are in the process of exchanging on our house and need to find a suitable rental property until our new house is built in the spring - there's nothing suitable around at all. I don't have a clue where we will be living at Christmas. People keep commenting on how big my bump is. I snapped at our stupid head teacher this morning when she started pointing and shouting about it in the playground this morning. Gah....

Ahhh that feels better!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 02/11/2018 17:43

Leafy2018 wow that sounds like a lot to be dealing with! Glad a rant has helped Grin

I also get recurrent headaches (not really migraine) which I’ve had all day today, plus a return of the nausea. Bastard hormones.

Firstbornunicorn · 02/11/2018 17:56

@Leafy2018 that sounds really stressful!! Hopefully you find somewhere good to live in the meantime. Are people seriously commenting on your bump?! I don't think be able to take that if it happens to me! Much less people wanting to touch it - gross in my opinion.
Head teacher sounds like a twit. She's lucky you didn't bounce her off the playground with your giant baby bump Grin

@FrazzyAndFrumpled oh no :( do you normally get nausea with your headaches? I'm lucky in that I don't really suffer from headaches but DH does and they can be horrendous. Bastard hormones indeed!

See i’ve had it really easy, no symptoms other than back ache, which I must add is really really really frustrating as there’s nothing worse than not being able to get comfortable!
I’ve been sick about 5 times, randomly out the blue in the most awkward places - subway being one of them while trying to order my lunch!! Safe to say I didn’t really want it after that!
Other than that i’ve had it easy but what’s grating on me most is people telling me I look ill or really pale!
I’m 21 weeks, I haven’t got that pregnancy glow, I haven’t got the lovely nourished hair in fact it’s gone really dry and brittle and I feel like a gremlin that needs to spend the rest of my pregnancy in bed!
Oh and while I remember; that I don’t look pregnant, I just looked fat up until about a week ago apparently! Yeah cheers guys way to make a girl feel good!
I’m a first timer, only 19 so it’s all very very very aggrivating 😂

I couldn’t imagine dealing with sickness like yours OP! I do feel sorry for you!

Leafy2018 · 02/11/2018 19:11

@Firstbornunicorn sorry you're feeling so rough - I've just read the full thread. Sounds grim. I can commiserate on the sickness. I didn't eat any vegetables for about four months I think. Not quite the start I'd had in mind for our baby. Hope you get some relief soon. It's bloody miserable. I cried so many times about feeling so ill - I distinctly remember wailing to my Mum 'I'd just do anything to feel well again!' And I just don't think you can convey to your husband just how shit you actually feel - I really wanted to spend all day in bed and never leave the house!

And sadly yes - I'm sure the delights of people providing a running commentary on the size of your bump is round the corner. I've had it every day for the last four days from different people. Literally reaching out and saying 'Oooo that's a big bump isn't it?' This morning I replied to the head (who is indeed a twit of the highest order) when she said 'Oh that bumps coming out a bit now isn't it!' - 'Yes, well it's supposed to be growing so that's good isn't it!' I feel enormous and really ungainly as it's so painful to walk so I really don't need the size pointing out whenever I step outside my front door. This is the same head who also commented at 18 weeks - 'well it's a big bump on a little girl' - patronising so and so! I'm 34!

@FrazzyAndFrumpled Poor you with headaches. I've found soluble paracetamol the best thing. Plus those kool strip things for the forehead and tiger balm on temples (possibly hippy shit but do find it helps.)
