Who to go to for pregnancy/IVF/adoption counselling?

Hi I've so far had one miscarriage, followed by an ectopic. I have concerns about if I want to go through another pregnancy or if we should consider adoption as an option. I would really like to talk things over with a professional to help navigate the decision but how do I go about finding someone who could help me work through this? I don't want to see a general person, I would like to see someone who has experience with supporting women through this decision. Do any of you have any suggestions on where I might look or go to? Thanks

Not counselling advice but have you thought of just making an initial enquiry to your local authority re adoption? You can then seek out some more information without committing yourself.

I had counselling through the ivf clinic. - it was free with s cycle but I'm sure you could pay to see the counsellor - they do fertility and helping couples consider their options all the tim

Second the recommendation of arranging counselling through IVF clinic. We had a couple of paid for sessions with the clinic's counsellor after our fertility investigations and before deciding to start IVF - so outside of the "free" sessions offered as part of an IVF cycle.

Thanks so much for your help. I've had a look at our local fertility clinic and will contact them. I've also managed to find out the maximum age for fertility treatment on the NHS where I am and I have a two and a half years. I thought I would have to be 40 or under. I'm staring down the barrel of 40 in a few months time and really felt like time was running out for options. Thanks for your suggestions. It has helped put my mind at rest as well as finding a useful contact for counselling.

I think you are wise beyond your years in seeking counselling from an ivf expert. When we were going through ivf and infertility i needed counselling, but just went to a general psychologist. It was awful, it felt like I was explaining the process and she wasnt used to dealing with the complexities of the situation. It felt like a waste of time.
