Do i REALLY have to avoid runny fried eggs?

I've just had a fancy for a fried egg sarnie, so i bought some eggs and it wasn't til i was on my way home that i suddenly realised that i'm not supposed to eat runny eggs. But a runny yolk is the BEST bit of any fried egg sarnie!!

Oh woe is me!!!

are they lion marked eggs? If so, I would go for it!

RGPargy · 17/06/2007 10:55

Oh happy days!! They ARE Lion Eggs!!

So it doesn't harm the baby then, no?

I think the risk is that you might get salmonella, which is not nice if you are pg but HIGHLY unlikely. I've had runny eggs during this pg.

sparklygothkat · 17/06/2007 11:18

I have had dippy eggs during this pregnancy, go for it

colditz · 17/06/2007 11:21

I ate dippy eggs throughout pregnancy - if I were you I would make sure they are free range, but they are safe anyway.

rubles · 17/06/2007 11:32

Oh go on, do it. (If you haven't already).

Kbear · 17/06/2007 11:33

I just had a bacon and egg sarnie - food of the gods (but I'm not pregnant, just eating like I am!!. And yes, fine if they are Lion eggs.

RGPargy · 17/06/2007 11:45

Well it looks like i'm doubly safe then. They are free range AND lion eggs. I'm gonna do it!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll report back with how lush it was in about 10 mins.

Kbear

I hate you

puffling · 17/06/2007 11:58

I had double fried egg sandwiches twice last week. They were nice.

Flamesparrow · 17/06/2007 12:08

I did it through my whole preg with DD - forgot they were on the no-go list til I went for a fry up 2 days before she was born and the waitress brought it out and explained that she had got the chef to do them well done because of the baby

(Was very impressed at the service though!)

misdee · 17/06/2007 12:11

Jealous emoticon. I must admit I avoided them last time & so far this time round but I'll be dipping my toast in next week when I'm away with work. Always look forward to my fried breakfast & a well-cooked egg spoils it. I'm still in ordinary clothes so hopefully won't meet with Flamesparrow's eggsperience (couldn't resist sorry).
