Wow. It's been a big day for me today.
I went to my first consultants appointment with this pregnancy and I wasn't sure what to expect or what i was going in for. I knew it was because I had a previous c section but that was pretty much all the information I had.
Boy was I surprised for them to book my c section in for this baby at 13 weeks and 1 day! I can't believe I pretty much know when my baby will be born, it's so amazing.
I also had my screening bloods and scan taken on Tuesday and was told it would take 2 weeks to receive the results in the post, but they could tell me today and everything is extremely low risk, something like 1 in 4563!
The consultant was so nice and whole explaining the risks he was kind and also told me it is my body and my baby and the only person who's choice that counts is mine but that he will always be honest with me about the facts.
My blood pressure is perfect, my bloods are perfect, baby is doing perfect.
I just think it's a massive sigh of relief to know everything is going well and everyone is on your side.
I don't know but I just wanted to share this. We've all probably had some shitty days with HCPs and think sometimes it's nice to share when everything has went amazingly.
I'm just very happy with how the meeting went.
Here's a picture of my little one at 12 weeks and 5 days :)
I have a sneaky feeling it's a girl 😅

Aw, that's lovely. It's great that you have a supportive consultant 😊

pacempercutiens · 26/10/2018 16:23

Did you request one or were you just given one because you'd had a previous CS?

I'm currently 5 weeks with my 2nd, had an EMCS last time and going for an ELCS this time so it's really nice to hear your positive experience

I requested one, I knew it was what I wanted and he listened to me straight away.
He gave an analogy along the lines of "if I worked in a shop and you came in for a top, I can talk to you about other items in the store that we offer, but I'm not allowed to tell you your choice of top isn't a valid choice. That will always be your choice."
I just thought he was nice and insightful while still doing his job.
I'd heard stories of them trying to force VBACs and I was stressed, I definitely didn't need to worry.

I love this positive story, makes a lovely change. I would just like to say though I've had to VBAC births after a section and I had a lovely experience with both of them. The staff were fab and helped me the whole time, I just wasn't sure if you weren't considering it due to hearing horror stories.
