Tearfulness in pregnancy

Hi, long time lurker on mumsmet but I don’t usually post. Currently pregnant with my first at just over 17 weeks & I have a stressful public sector job. The last few weeks have been pretty tough trying to keep up with pressures and often find myself tearful and anxious. I’m not sure if anyone else felt this way where hormones took over and they felt not like themselves. Just looking for a hand hold and to know that i’m not alone. It’s hard to be honest with family to not worry them.

@Domino45 hi!
I am coming up for 20 weeks, and have been feeling the same. Sometimes I feel unbearably sad, and cry. Also anxious about tiny things.
It could be my hormones as I was always like this while on the pill/ periods.
I know what you mean about talking with family etc. It’s not easy to hide, but then you don’t want to worry people, or they just think it’s hormones so it will pass.
Xx

It’s nice to know I’m not alone! It feels so silly sometimes. This being my first pregnancy you don’t always know what to expect with pregnancy being different for everyone.

@Domino45 my first pregnancy too.
I worry about them as teenagers and if they will be stressed/ happy in their life. 🙈 which is probably a normal worry- but it gets so intense!
Hope it calms down as the pregnancy comes along.
For now, I’m trying to focus on the nice parts and how happy I am to expect this baby!
Hope you’re finding time to relax too xx

I was quite tearful beforehand but yes, definitely very tearful during pregnancy. I’m 32 weeks and cried because the central heating was on at work yesterday and I was too warm.

If ever you need to conceal your teary eyes, I do have a good tip. Run your wrists under cold water for a few minutes - it reduces the redness in/around your eyes.

9 weeks, pretty much every other day I have some form of out burst. From having to get repairs on the car to not being able to find my chocolate bar.
And then I think about why I'm crying and cry about how pathetic I am crying at nothing

Pregnancy.... yay.

I cried seeing a horse in a field when pregnant. The horse was not in peril. He was ok. It's an emotional time but normal.

I know, there’s much to think about and as my mom says you still worry when their older.
I’m sure it will & postive thinking defo helps.
You too!
Thanks for replying it’s really helped me.

Coming up for 30 weeks here and the tears never stopped really 🙈 is not usually emotional at all but have cried so much during pregnancy. Hormones have a lot to answer for haha
