Hi girls was hoping to get some help regarding a pregnancy test i took, i took 2 tests a week ago now and recently caught up with a friend who said although both lines are there and are quite strong they look too far apart? I'm hoping she's right and that I'm not pregnant as this wouldn't be ideal for me right now, i recently had the implant removed and haven't had a period since then (it's been a month today) but I understand all women are different and get theirs back at different times. Could someone please put my mind at rest and tell me I'm not pregnant?

TBH if you've taken a test and 2 lines appear, it's likely to be a positive. It can be an evap line though. Do you have a picture?
Maybe try a digital test?

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 17:01

I do yes but it won't let me upload it for some reason? And yeah i personally think it's positive because it appeared on both tests i took but I'm hoping it's not a positive result plus I've heard evaps are colourless and these are pink lines

New users can’t upload pictures to begin with.

If the second line came up within the specified timeframe I’d bet good money on it being positive. If you really want to know, use a digital test and then there is no doubt.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 17:04

Oh right okay :) and yeah it came up within the timeframe i get paid on Wednesday so will have to buy a digital then

I guess as long as the lines were in the little window of the test they probably were okay distance wise. And if they came up in the time frame on both tests they probably are postives. Defo get either a digital or a first response as first response are really sensitive when you can.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 17:38

It was first response that i used i bought the twin pack but will definitely pick up another pack and a digital on Wednesday :)

Are they far apart like these? Sorry, this is the only picture I still have on mine!

If so, im sorry to say that it does sound like you might be pregnant.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 18:06

Yeah it's exactly like that distance between the lines

OP posts:
Stephisaur · 21/10/2018 18:23

@hollymay12 that’s normal for the first response tests. All of mine came out like that and I am currently very pregnant!

I don’t get why the diagram shows them so close, it confused my husband too.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 18:30

Oh right congratulations and i know it probably sounds selfish but yeah I'm not in a position to have a baby right now

OP posts:
Stephisaur · 21/10/2018 18:44

That’s absolutely fine. You have to do what’s right for you Flowers

Lilbear14 · 21/10/2018 18:45

Do you have anyone you could speak to? Like your friend. Or a close family member. You have many options so don't feel stuck you just have to do what's best for you.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:01

Yes i can speak to my friend or my sister but yeah i think it's just the not knowing it's not good

OP posts:
DannyWallace · 21/10/2018 19:09

@Hollymay12 don't apologise for feeling how you feel.
However if your test looks like that then it is very likely a positive.
Instead of waiting until Wednesday for another test I would make an appointment ASAP to speak to someone to discuss your options.xx

Lilbear14 · 21/10/2018 19:13

I agree with @DannyWallace you don't need to appoligise. We know things like this happen.
I've gone through with pregnancies when they weren't ideal and not regretted it. I've also had two terminations and I don't regret those either as I wasn't in a good relationship not a good time in my life. I'm also not ashamed of my choices either because I knew they had to be for me. Don't feel ashamed whatever you decide and don't let people make you feel bad about anything you chose to do.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:13

I called up 2 days ago and they said i would need to wait for an appointment with a midwife and i wouldn't be far enough in my pregnancy to have that appointment yet so i have an appointment at the start of November to discuss options

OP posts:
Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:16

And thank you Lilbear14 :)

Lilbear14 · 21/10/2018 19:17

Your GP should still see you to speak to you about your options too. I've always gone to my GP first to speak to them. They are able to give you information there and then so you don't have to wait for a midwife.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:18

That's who i called and they said it would need to be an appointment with a midwife

OP posts:
Lilbear14 · 21/10/2018 19:24

Have they given you any contact details for a midwife?
Each area works differently and some work very differently.
But in my area I've always seen a GP, they would then put it on my records and I would be given a contact number for the community midwife team.

I would contact your GP again, and say you would like to see a GP or a Practitioner Nurse as you would like to discuss options. Midwife appointments could be as late as 10 weeks depending on area so because you have concerns you really do need to speak to someone asap.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:32

When would be the earliest i could see a midwife?

OP posts:
Lilbear14 · 21/10/2018 19:35

It all depends on the area. I was lucky and got in at 7 weeks. But I have friends who wernt able to be seen till 10/11.

I'm my area the first appointment is around an hour long. They talk about medical history, take bloods and touch on home life. I also had my 12 week scan booked then.

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:38

I think they asked how far I'd be if i was pregnant and I said a couple of weeks which is why they made the appointment for November because if i am I'd be 8-10 weeks by then which is when people in my area are able to be seen

OP posts:
Lilbear14 · 21/10/2018 19:43

Okay well if you are wanting to keep the baby then you need to wait until your midwife app. Do another test when you get paid if you want a definate answer. I think if you have any doubts or make any other decisions before then then you need to ask for an appointment with your doctor for option details

Hollymay12 · 21/10/2018 19:44

I will do I'll do a test in the meantime thank you :)
