Hiya. Just hoping for a bit of a handhold really. 39+1 and I'm due to have a sweep later this morning and I'm suddenly terrified (I know it might not work but still ahhh). Already have a dc that is 7 and now freaking out I'm actually going to have a baby soon. How do people cope with 2? Will the age gap work? Been feeling like I want this baby out for weeks but now I'm just panicking about everything. I don't remember how to pick up a baby. Or breastfeed. Or anything that I should remember. Please tell me it'll all be fine 😥

It will be fine. You didn't know all of the baby stuff last time and you coped, right? Your 7yo will be a great help, my DSS was 7 when my DD was born and apart from running and hiding when she made a stench he was great. Good luck for today!

You can do this! It will all come back to you.

Thank you for the replies. Sorry didn't update was a hectic weekend. First sweep didn't work but had a second yesterday and waters broke last night. Just at home waiting for contractions to ramp up or in for induction tomorrow. Trying not to panic and failing miserably 😂

You are going to be fine op. You have successfully kept a child alive before, you can do it this time! The age gap will be lovely as your 7 year old is old enough to be really involved. It will all click into place when baby is born. Just relax and take it one minute/hour at a time. For now, rest up and save your energy for the birth. You've got this!

Lots a good vibes coming your way.. get out for a walk or do laps of the house.. stay upright so that the lovely gravity can do its thing!!

TeaLover2468 · 23/10/2018 09:37

@stormwhale thank you. Its nice to hear that the age gap works all my friends have smaller gaps so they thought I was crazy waiting so long! @kmreeve I'm ashamed to admit I'm actually on the sofa staying as still as possible as its half term so my dd is home dp is at work and so is my mum who is my planned childcare. Planning to get up and move around this afternoon closer to them coming home Blush

@TeaLover2468 I get that.. but get your butt off the sofa it'ls better to go naturally than to be induced. I'm sure if things speed up they can leave work..?

TeaLover2468 · 23/10/2018 11:12

@kmreeve I know you're right. Going to suck it up and get on the birthing ball spd is so bad I don't think I could walk even if I wanted.

Don't worry about the age gap, I find it works well as they have more independence and they don't rely on you for the smaller things like getting dressed or going to the toilet. Ican't imagine having a close age gap.
I have 6.5 years between my eldest and youngest. There will be 5 years between youngest and new baby....and a nearly 12 between eldest and new baby which sounds crazy now I've typed it 😂😂

TeaLover2468 · 23/10/2018 12:55

@lilbear14 that's what I'm hoping. I thought hopefully there will be more understanding as well that the baby needs time and attention. My dd has already decided she wants to help feed him and give him cuddles so hopefully including her will help the adjustment
