7 weeks pregnant and water infection

Hey ladies! I found out I was 7 weeks pregnant last week, and took myself to hospital because I had abdominal pains in my tummy, to find out it was a water infection, being treated by antibiotics, but still in a little bit of pain? Is this normal? Or am I just worrying myself sick?

As someone who suffers with regular UTI's, j know how painful and difficult to shift they can be. I had to have several lots of antibiotics because one lot just didn't touch it and now I use D-Mannose which has been a life saver! If you are concerned it's something more than a UTI then I would go back and request to be scanned but they are notoriously difficult to shift and you may need some more antibiotics. Bloody horrible things!

It's not silly at all. I'm 24 weeks with my 1st and worried too but from what I've read, it can only becomes a real problem if it spreads to your kidneys because this can make you quite ill. I really can't recommend D-Mannose enough. I take one when I feel the start of an infection and it nips it straight in the bud

No problem :) I ordered mine off amazon. You need to make sure it's pure D-Mannose as I read that some formulas have something called Uva Ursi in which should be avoided when pregnant.
There's a lot of info about D-Mannose on google so would recommend a quick search before ordering it but it's helped me a lot and I haven't needed a single antibiotic all pregnancy :)

I'll also add that it only works if the bacteria causing your infection is E.Coli which is the most common form. D-Mannose is a type of sugar found in Cranberries which sticks to E-Coli and flushes it out. You can always ask your GP to test which type of bacteria is causing the infection.
