Induction... how likely to work?

At 37/38 weeks with first baby.... I have a feeling I may be induced soon but am worried about the possibility of a failed induction. I've heard it's common they don't work?

Anxiety central...

Mine took an hour to kick in. Baby was out in two hours. Try not to worry as you'll be in the best place if anything does happen.

I think it's common that the pessary doesn't work. I had that for 24 hrs and it did nothing. But then mw did a sweep and accidentally broke my waters which got it all going. I would have had the drip if not. I loved being induced. Much better and more in control than my spontaneous labour.

Does anyone know if you can use water if you're induced? I know a water birth is out of the question, but would I be able to have showers or a bath?

I'd like to avoid a c section as best as possible. I have nothing against it but of course would rather not have surgery.

I was induced with my DD and it took 3 attempts over 2 days. Once it worked my labour lasted 2hrs 5mins. DS labour was 14 hours and DD2 labour was 10 hours. So being induced was the best one for me.
I was worried as had heard all these horror stories about being induced but it was honestly fine

I had a bath with mine, mine worked after the second pessary, I think.
