Hello! Seven weeks pregnant, second time around. First time I found rice cakes the answer to all queasiness but this time I’m finding the thought of eating anything disgusting, with a few exceptions. I was wondering if anyone had similar and what worked for you?

Things that make me feel less sick -

Very strong very hot tea
Calippos
Chinese food
Danish pastry
Fresh air

14 weeks and 1st baby. Gradually starting to eat properly again!

Chinese food did the opposite for me!

Mango - fresh and dried
Oranges
Tiny pieces of cheddar cheese
Sparkling water
White toast with marmite
Hot water and lemon
Salt and vinegar crisps
Crackers
Jacket potato with just butter

Meat is still pretty much a no go, but I've recently been able to eat Mcdonalds chicken sandwiches again, gherkins on everything with a banana milkshake.

mybumpismostlypudding · 16/10/2018 10:09

Marmite on toast
Gherkins
Apple juice with ginger cordial

spugzbunny · 16/10/2018 10:17

Row trees fruit pastille lollies! Had one for breakfast every day!

spugzbunny · 16/10/2018 10:17

White toast and butter
Lucozade original
Dairylea lunchables

The perfect balanced diet

Stormwhale · 16/10/2018 13:48

So far my acceptable list is:

  • Crusty bread
  • Cheese strings
  • Most fruit
  • Poached eggs
  • Breakfast biscuits
  • Strawberry and raspberry fruit tea.
  • Pizza.

Vegetables are a no no most of the time right now, as are many meats. I'm also off of quite a lot of sweet treats such as cake, and not keen on coffee at the minute.

m4rdybum · 16/10/2018 13:49

I don't even remember what I ate when I was having morning sickness- probably tried to blur it all out so I don't ruin the foods I loved. Some stuff I remember;

  • Really cold pure orange juice
  • Bread
  • Cereal Bars
  • Grapes
Pebblespony · 16/10/2018 13:50

White toast and butter.

TryingToStayRational · 16/10/2018 14:09

Plain crackers
Sparking water
Salt and vinegar Squares
Quarters of apple with peanut butter on
Toast with butter
Dry roasted nuts
Crisp sandwiches
Ham and pineapple pizza
Potato waffles
Hash browns
Grapes
Bread covered with mashed up banana and then cottage cheese on top

Sorry if any of that has added to the sickness. It’s rubbish and I hope someday there is a miracle cure!

TheChatsPyjamas · 16/10/2018 15:17

Some of these things sound appealing! Thanks guys. I love how individual everyone’s lists are - but glad I’m not the only one having ice lollies for breakfast!

Tuna pasta
Cereal
Slices of lemon

That was it, and being limited on tinned tuna left me eating boxes of cereal. In the end I picked food that would be the least unpleasant to throw up so no fish or seafood, nothing spicy etc.

HarrietCole · 16/10/2018 17:29

Haha so pleased after reading this I don't feel as ashamed of my current pregnancy diet!! 😂🙈

Chinese food particularly dry dishes like egg fried rice and salt and pepper chicken. Having major cravings for Chinese!
Salty crisps
Crumpets
Fruit and fibre cereal with skimmed milk
Decaf tea with skimmed milk
Ginger biscuits
Chocolate milkshake (seems to be a big craving of mine!)
Chicken nuggets

Hope you get over your sickness soon it's so horrible. I thought I'd got past mine once out of the first trimester but it's come back the past week 😩
Seriously been worrying about the rubbish I've been eating the past 6 weeks though as I'm worried about the effects on baby 😕

twinky06 · 16/10/2018 17:35

Hot milk is the only thing that works for me. I will throw up water, anything I try to eat... hot milk seems to settle my stomach.

sirmione16 · 16/10/2018 17:38

Ice pops, plain pasta and lucozade was all I lived off for a good 3 weeks. 100%.

SelinaMyers · 16/10/2018 17:38

Chicken dippers
Sausage rolls
Plain crisps
Fries 🍟
Tonic water or lemonade to drink :-)

SelinaMyers · 16/10/2018 17:40

Sorry to double post just remembered:

Milk/ Fudge Flavoured milkshake as water was too light (does that make sense)

Cucumber

Bobbiepin · 16/10/2018 20:45

Oh god milkshake. I dont think I've had a milkshake since. Accidently got one at a coffee shop with friends I hadn't told (I was distracted at the muffin shakes & forgot it was a bad idea). Bad bad day

Popsalot15 · 16/10/2018 20:53

Pretty similar to the above which is a relief

  • toast with marmalade
  • orange Fanta
  • salt and vinegar McCoy’s
  • wine gums
  • ginger biscuits
  • chips

I have to eat regular as well I get nasty otherwise!

tarheelbaby · 16/10/2018 21:01

Back in the day (9 yrs ago) it was all about regular eating for me. So breakfast of 2 sausages & toast with honey. I would cook extra sausages in the evening with whatever I was oven-roasting.

A mid-morning snack before 10:30 was essential and a late afternoon one before 4:30pm. I only had it once but one of the best morning snacks was a Gregg's steak slice and bottled lemonade from M&S. I ate a lot of philadelphia cream cheese on biscuits in the evening and apples too.

Hope it eases up

ILiveForNachos · 16/10/2018 21:06

Ice cold drinks only
Carrots
Plain hula hoops
Jam sandwiches
Bread in any form (French, brioche, stick, toast)

Starheart · 16/10/2018 21:10

Lollies were something I discovered later than I should have . Made a big difference . Again salted crisps helped and also dry rolls and salted chips . Toast and marmite and also cereal helped as well. Some days weetbix other days Rice Krispies as they were easier to digest .

TurquoiseWeekend · 16/10/2018 21:22

I lived off of crackers, salt and vinegar crisps and sprite for the first 13 weeks. I really feel for you.

fleshmarketclose · 16/10/2018 21:29

With dd I had a packet of pickled onion space raiders and a milky way for breakfast most mornings.

Seablueeyes · 16/10/2018 22:15

I find regular eating every two hours stops my nausea!
Salt and vinegar crisps
Weetabix and almond milk
Bananas
Waitrose stem ginger muffins (am spending a fortune!).

Notquiteagandt · 16/10/2018 22:39

Bannanas
Potatos mashed or jacket spuds loads butter
Jelly
Custard
Porridge
Stewed apple
Baked pears
Ice cream

All my safest foods when hg was worse. Texture was important so didnt hurt on way back up.also anything creamy soothed throat and helped acid reflux.
