Anyone deliver at 37 weeks?

I could just be being paranoid, but I've got a dull, nagging pelvic pain, heightened anxiety, crampy feeling and shooting pain down my legs.

I'm 37 weeks but just have a weird feeling that labour is looming...

Is this normal? Sign that labour is close? Anyone else have these or similar signs at 37 weeks?

Yep, me. DS came at 36+5, 10 years ago.

Tbh, I think those are normal signs labour anytime full time.

BikeRunSki · 15/10/2018 23:54

Good luck

Thanks @BikeRunSki - it's such a daunting time. It feels like things just changed overnight. Could just be the head engaging! It's such an unknown 🙈

Hi,

My DD2 came at 38+4 after my waters broke at 38+3 which isn't as early as you're asking about obviously but I had a strong feeling it was going to happen early from around 36 weeks. I had terrible cramping at night and my mood was shocking. I was booked for a planned c section at 39+4 but just knew that date was too late and I wouldn't get there. Of course it's easy to see all these signs as signs in retrospect and perhaps it was all a coincidence but I feel like I just knew. Good luck and don't worry if baby does come along a bit early - you're at a good gestation. Just make sure your hospital bag is packed (mine wasn't!) x

I had those feelings from about 36 weeks sign DS1.
He didn't come until 42 weeks. I spent all that time thinking he was about to arrive it was absolute torture!
I've always wondered if it was because he was my first baby because my second didn't do that.

Irlaith · 16/10/2018 10:11

@RememberWhenRibenaTastedNice noooo! That's so not what I wanted to hear 🙈

Thanks @WelshMammy123 - looking at potential induction or c section so would actually be quite nice if things happened naturally, but I guess what will be will be. Wishful thinking on my part maybe!

Is it your first baby? Mine engaged early on and I had UTI's I think all that was causing the pain and discomfort which lead me to think he was imminent.

If it makes you feel better a friend of mine was due a few months before me and she told me she "had signs" at 38 weeks. I poo-pooed it and said no way, I had that and he was still late.
But she had her daughter 2 days later! I had to eat my hat 😂😂

RememberWhenRibenaTastedNice · 16/10/2018 10:24

Due a few months after me, sorry.

Irlaith · 16/10/2018 10:26

@RememberWhenRibenaTastedNice yep, first baby! I think I had my heart set on things happening naturally but whatever is safest for baby.
Time to google induction!

37 weeks is actually a fully cooked baby!!

OutPinked · 16/10/2018 10:46

37 weeks was classed as full term when I had my other DC and the youngest is only six. There’s differing information now but from what I can tell, they’ve changed it to 39 weeks with 37/38 being ‘early term’.

I feel exactly how you do fwiw and am also 37 weeks. I barely sleep at night, am filled with anxiety, my mood is bloody awful and I have the dull dragging pains and pressure. I went over with my three DC though and I expect I would this time if I wasn’t booked in for an ELCS at 39 weeks. It’s normal at this stage.

BertieDrapper · 16/10/2018 11:56

37 weeks is classes as full term so no need to worry and you can still have a natural labour- unless you have other medical issues ?

I delivered at 37 weeks after my waters broke.

Irlaith · 16/10/2018 12:57

@BertieDrapper I'm not worried in the slightest :) I do have other medical issues which means I may need to be induced. It would actually be a good thing for me if I went in to labour now! Wishful thinking by the looks of things though..
