15 weeks. Feel like I'm in limbo

I'm 15 weeks and I feel like the reassurance of the 12 week scan has worn off, the 20 week scan feels like a long way off and I haven't felt any movements yet (1st baby so I know thats normal). Anyone else feeling or felt like this?

I also feel like this. I am 14 weeks and had my scan at 11+3. I have scans booked at 16 and 17 weeks due to previous pregnancy problems.

You could always book a private scan? Especially if you want to know the gender. We did that with my little boy. Found out at 16 weeks.

I'm 15+5 but I've only just got my booking in for tomorrow so I've not even had the reassurance of the first scan yet, I'm feeling a little on edge and frustrated

Definitely felt like this. I was lucky to start feeling movements around 16 weeks but I know lots of people don’t until much later. That’s been quite reassuring, although they are quite sporadic and I get anxious if I haven’t felt any all day.

Now 18+5 and still not really showing, I’m looking forward to having a proper bump!

I'm 15 and 2 and I've felt like this on and off throughout. I told my cousins yesterday though so I'm riding the high of that at the moment. I imagine it'll rub off by Thursday though...

Yep felt just like this! Fortunately wasn't long until movements started - keeping holding on they'll be with you soon!

snoopy18 · 15/10/2018 21:51

Same! I’ve been feeling movement though which is helping but looking forward to the 20 week scan for sure! Aiming to book in a private scan after 20 weeks and before birth because I think it’ll feel so far away haha.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 16/10/2018 00:36

I was the same with this pregnancy (dc2)- I felt like shite but I didn’t feel pregnant!

I booked a private gender scan for 16 weeks in an attempt to make things feel more “real”. Didn’t have a preference for the sex, but I thought knowing who was in there would help things click into place a bit more.

We found out it was a boy and it makes a huge difference to me being able to call him by his name. Seeing his face rather than the black and white fuzz of the nhs scans was also great.

We have the 20 week scan next week so I’m holding my breath for that now!

The only symptom I had at this stage was not being able to keep my eyes open lol. You do have other appointments though where they test your wee etc. I didn't feel any movement with my first until gone 20 weeks either!

ladycarlotta · 16/10/2018 10:43

I agree it's such a weird phase of pregnancy - not nauseous but not big either - it helped that I felt the first movements at 15+4. Hang tight and try to embrace the positives of this stage! I'm 20 weeks now and just had a beautiful scan, so feel a lot less in limbo.

ChaosMoon · 16/10/2018 21:27

Ah, @ladycarlotta that's so early! I'm very jealous. 😊 I take this isn't your first?

babystripes · 16/10/2018 22:01

I was the same 12 weeks until 20 weeks is so daunting! I felt no movements that early! I'm 18+3 now but I booked a private gender scan there on Sunday! Everything was perfect! So long as there is no cramping or bleeding you have nothing to worry about so try and relax! Found out my placenta is to the front which means even now at 18 weeks I don't feel much movements.. but as the baby grows that will eventually move, found out we are expecting a little girl 😆

ladycarlotta · 23/10/2018 11:53

late returning to this one, sorry @ChaosMoon - but if it still helps, yes it was my first. I haven't a clue why, I'm not very skinny or anything, she must have just been in a position that made it really obvious that day. Remember that an anterior placenta can make it harder to feel things til bub's a bit bigger.

To me the movements initially felt not that different to the sort of 'stretching' feeling I'd had from quite early pregnancy, of my uterus expanding? For a few weeks it was a sort of rolling twisting feel, or like muscle spasms, rather than the flutters or popcorn feelings other people describe. They've got stronger over the weeks and are now much more recognisable, with a few hoofing kicks scattered in. Last night she had hiccups! You'll get there really soon either way, let us know when you do feel them!
