Partial Placenta Abruption

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the above?

I'm only 14 weeks, woke early hours Friday covered in blood and started passing large clots.. long story short, part of my placenta has come away from the wall because it's low lying, and due to 'over doing it' (I have a two year old).

I've been put on bedrest in the hope it reattaches and the midwife explained what 'should' happen, is that as I grow the placenta should move up and in to a better position.

Has this happened to anyone else? Did you manage to continue to full term? Or to a point where baby could be delivered safely?

Thanks in advance

How frightening for you. I had a subchorionic haematoma identified early on which sounds like it might be the same thing or similar. I was signed off work immediately. By the 20 week scan it was gone but my placenta was still posterior low lying, same at 28 weeks. I had a 32 week scan last week and it's finally moved up. My doctor said low lying placentas move in 90% of cases but it does depend on the position. A friend had complete previa and a couple of scary bleeds, hers didn't move so she had a planned c section at 36 weeks, baby and mother both fine.
