Sainsbury's always gave me positives when I wasn't pregnant. Is it a thin line over to the left? It's pointless taking them to be honest.

Emz887 · 15/10/2018 12:00

Yeah, I'm starting to feel the same way about Sainsbury's tests too, I going to get my friend to try one to see if they line pops up too. Also I have a doctors appt at 1pm today... will they be able to do anything??x

Ok so... did a test the same time as my friend... mine - that same line came up... hers just the normal line...
the not knowing 😩😩😩 maybe the doctors have a better test? I've never had this issue before!

Your friend isn't pregnant Grin sounds like you are and maybe the sainsburys test are more sensitive. Smile.

Emz887 · 15/10/2018 13:17

Update: 🙈🙈 I've done 3 tests this morning.. Sainsbury's one positive but faint
A Wilkos one - faint pink line
A Asda cheap one - the kind that's just the strip you dip in the sample...
Also pink line.

Thanks, it's just a roller coaster of emotions at the moment with all these mixed messages xx

I completely understand. I had to have a blood test done around 4 months ago because I got one faint positive on a Tesco but nothing on anything else. Bloods came back negative too and I didn't have a positive until I had actually conceived. It's such an emotional time.

With you getting lines on other tests though I would say they are picking something up.
Not sure how much this is true but I have heard that the one at the doctor's arnt all that good.
My first tests were that faint I couldn't even pick it up on camera. I had to get a clear blue digital to clarify, that was not pregnant....but I knew I was seeing two lines on the previous so I waited a few hours for the other clear blue because I couldn't wait and got a positive. Did another one out of curiosity last week and the test line was darker than the control line in just two weeks. HCG does increase quickly so the lines should get darker every day or every other day. Fingers crossed for you!!! Keep us updated

@Lilbear14 oh so the doctors tests aren't that great? Well she kept the sample to send off to the labs.. then I had to go and wait 90 minutes in the waiting room for my turn to get my blood taken ... hoping it will all be worth it in the end... they said to call in a day or so for the blood results! I'm definitely calling them tomorrow! Fingers crossed the bloods will give me the correct answer. All these confusing test results are really frustrating!

I got my blood results the same day, they were amazing. Despite the fact I didn't get the result I wanted I knew for sure and was able to keep trying then.
Keep us updated ! I hope you get the results you want tomorrow!

Emz887 · 16/10/2018 11:14

@Lilbear14 thank you, I've just called and they have no results back as yet.... and so the waiting continues

Emz887 · 16/10/2018 20:03

Still waiting 😩

@Emz887 if it's supposed to be a vertical line in the circle making a cross I see it!

I used Poundland cheapies stick tests then a digital one later, never used this type!

Emz887 · 17/10/2018 04:42

Yes it's supposed to be a + sign... but it's been a long week of clearly negatives and questionable positives 🙈🙈🙈🤔

@Emz887 weird! Hopefully blood test will come back soon. It's odd to get such a range. The odd one I could understand being faulty or misread but so many 🤷

Didn't they say you can get a false negatives but not a false positive? (Line bleed/flooding/evap aside)

MyDcAreMarvel · 17/10/2018 05:43

I think it’s a chemical pregnancy because otherwise tests would be darker now.

Lilbear14 · 17/10/2018 07:49

Please don't jump to thinking it's a chemical pregnancy until you get your blood results back.
I think they're actually too dark for a potential chemical. I had lights lines which were pretty much undetected by a phone camera. I had to use a DSLR. And mine isn't chemical.
They're clear positives to me. It's like PP said you can get false negatives. As much as false positive do happen I wouldn't have said in all those tests you've done.

But I'm not medical professional so I can only go by experience and all that stuff haha.

Hope you get your results today!!

mumofmunchkin · 17/10/2018 09:18

That last photo you’ve put up looks like a clear positive to me. It depends how sensitive the tests are, as to the concentration of hormone that’s needed in your urine before the test will detect it. If the doctors test was less sensitive, then it may just be that it was too early for it to pick it up. The same for any negative tests you are getting - you seem to be getting positives from a range of different brands now, it seems almost impossible that they would all be false positives (they can’t detect a hormone that isn’t there), while there is an easy explanation for why some tests are still showing up negative (less sensitive test).

mumofmunchkin · 17/10/2018 09:20

mydcaremarvel you can’t diagnose a chemical pregnancy based on the darkness of a test line. The line just shows the presence or not of hcg, the darkness of the line is affected by the amount of dye in the test, the urine concentration etc. A chemical pregnancy is when you get a positive test, but your “period” (a very early miscarriage) follows.

MyDcAreMarvel · 17/10/2018 12:44

No, but a line than does not get darker over time can often be a chemical. I was hoping to reassure the op due to her medication.
