I’m having a c section on Wednesday and have a next to me cot attached to my side of the bed. I’m struggling to get out of there at the moment to use the toilet at night and getting up in the mornings, will it be much harder with the c section scar? Im trying to think of ways to make it easier for myself. I want to use the next to me as I want to try and breastfeed too.

Do u mean because it's in the way? Mine got in the way long after I recovered from
C section but that's nothing to do with the op just my small bedroom.

You might want to see how you go. Perhaps if your partner is around he can pass you the baby and move the crib if needs be.

I found after 3-5 days I was able to manage on my own (but my scar didn't fully heal for
At least 3 months so maybe don't listen to me)

I had a c-section two weeks ago. The first 12 hours after I couldn’t have lifted the baby out of anything. After that I could pick him up out of a normal cot just fine, except when I had shoulder pain (I didn’t know before that a section gives you shoulder pain) and at those points I had to ask a nurse to pass him to me.
I had severe back problems from early pregnancy onwards and was on sick leave from week 7 so was not in great shape at this point.
Two weeks on and I’m completely recovered.

I have a next to me crib and had a c section 8 weeks ago.
It is a bit of a nightmare the first couple of weeks trying to wriggle down the bed to get out!
However, (I know you shouldn't!!!) for the first few weeks I didn't fully attach it to the bed meaning I could push it out slightly to make it easier to get out and lift the baby then pull it back in once baby was asleep again.
I did and still do find it quite difficult to lift baby out of it I would say that was more painful than getting out of bed!

I couldn't have shuffled down the bed to get out after my c-section. So DH and I swapped sides (so I was on the side without the crib) and he would pass me DD for feeding. I was sleeping propped up with loads of big cushions for weeks, before we eventually swapped back.
