Hasty induction decision?

Feeling like a bit of a wimp! I had a growth scan today to see if my baby's growth had improved from two weeks ago when it appeared to have started trailing. I was told that if growth was still trailing I'd probably be booked for induction. Luckily she has put a pound on since the last time and they're pleased with growth. They've said that liquid volume is a little on the low side but not alarmingly so.

However, since my last growth scan I've had another (making it 6) episode of reduced movement - although baby started partying the second I went on the trace last Monday. Because of this, they still want to induce me and I'm being booked in for Sunday. I'll be 38+3. Have been feeling baby move since Monday.

I'm suddenly a ball of nerves. I always knew labour was the end game but I'm just getting a bit freaked! I had a sweep also today which apparently went well as cervix is opening and thinning out and baby's head is so low. It really bloody hurt though and I'm not normally so wimpy. Also bleeding a bit which I'm whittling about as I'm rhesus neg. If sweep doesn't work, induction it is which is not what I wanted but will do what is best. My question is, do you think they're being too hasty in inducing me or does this seem about right?

Not sure if it's last min anxiety or genuine concern I'm feeling.

I think they’re following standard practice. It’s pretty normal to be induced atvterm if two or more episodes of reduced FM even without any query over growth or liquor volume.

A number of big research studies have shown that the two biggest indicators of late stillbirth are baby not putting on weight and reduced foetal movement. It would be irresponsible of them as medics not to induce you at this stage.

I guess my reservations have stemmed from the fact that everytime (apart from once) that I've been in with RM she has gone crazy with lots of movements the second I'm on the trace. I have an anterior placenta which could obviously cushion movements and kicks. I'm left wondering each time if I've just overreacted and if anything has been truly wrong but of course it's better to be safe than sorry. Midwives have given me a good telling off everytime I've said I feel silly for calling them so I know the importance of reporting any worries.

On the part of the hosp however I completely understand it is the responsible thing to do now to eliminate risks. Here's hoping the sweep will work. I do actually feel on off pains now and then but I know that could be pressure/soreness from the sweep.
