Help! I'm 5 months pregnant and usually size 10-12 have gained 8 pound and generally just look " like I have gained a little tummy Weight so more a size 12-14 now! However I don't look pregnant at all just not my usual slim self ...
Problem is I just don't know how to dress in this pregnancy stage. My jeggings are getting abit tight , leggings look terrible , I don't even know what colours to wear as bright colours draw attention to my belly which like I say doesn't look pregnant yet just flabby!!

If anyone has any links to any clothing they have seen lately or any tips what you wore when you didn't look pregnant but clearly not your normal self please would you share :)

Thank you !
Zoe

I wouldn’t spend too much money on inbeteeen clothes that may only be if use for 2wks or so. You’d be better off buying some good quality maternity wear that is adjustable. I never had an inbetween stage as despite being a size 10 flat tummy, I needed mat clothes by 14wks and by 5mths everyone thought I was due. But I didn’t get much bigger then until 36wks. It can change very quickly though so I’d say just buy some nice tunics and wear over either leggings or good quality mat jeans.

I wore size 12-14 sportswear, it was roomy and comfortable although I felt a little silly. Hopefully your bump will come soon and then you have a fair bit of choice.

I had bump bands that meant I could continue wearing my normal clothes up until about 20 weeks.

I just wore my normal clothes as long as I could, then went into maternity clothes. So jeans until they were really uncomfy, then got some maternity jeans. Most of my tops are stretchy anyway so fit for a long time, and less fitted, looser tops, or tunic length tops, are good. Yes, you look like you've put on a bit of weight, but to be honest there's no helping that - you're growing a baby Grin - I imagine most people you care about know why you've gained a few pounds, and who cares what anyone else thinks (who probably isn't thinking anything about your waistline anyway).

I certainly wouldn't buy anything specifically for this stage, it's gone by so quickly, it feels a waste of money.

Fatface seem to make most of their tops and blouses quite loose fitting on the waist. I have a couple of their breton striped cotton tops in my pre-pregnancy size which were flattering early on but still fit comfortably now at 32 weeks and are thick/warm enough for the winter weather.

I also bought a few jersey/stretchy maternity dresses from the Katie Piper range and from JMB which fit early on but also still fit now so good value for money.

Another option is thr cheap maternity vest tops from H&M with a hoodie or sweatshirt over the top.

I have opted for dresses where the skirt starts under the bust line, although I bought a few cheap maternity dresses, which are huge, but will come in handy later on.

Trousers are just a no-no for me, as I'm short legged and will just look like a tellytubby, and none of my old ones fit anymore. I'm finding leggings and dresses are much more comfortable. i'm only 17 weeks and have a small bump already.

Leggings and long baggy tops. Leggings do look awful but they were the only thing that was comfortable. Big baggy jumpers and boots - be thankful it's winter!! Grin

I bought these from amazon so I could wear my normal trousers for longer. I ended up only buying 1 pair of maternity jeans and 2 pairs of maternity work trousers as the belly belt meant I could still wear majority of my normal trousers.

For tops I wore a lot of long tops that covered my bump, or a long vest top underneath my normal t-shirts.

I just embraced maternity wear. It tends to accentuate your tummy and make you look more pregnant than fat!

I bloated up straight away so I've been in leggings, long tops and blazers for about 8 weeks now as my skinny jeans just got uncomfortable and If I go up a size for my tummy it is too big on my legs and bum etc so leggings was the only way!
Finally got a few pairs of skinny maternity jeans yesterday (including black for work - yay!) as bloat turning more solid (14 weeks) and feel back to my old self! H&M jeans are great!

I wouldn't spend too much on stuff that will only last a short while. Instead I'd go for maternity stuff that can grow with you - so loose tops, stretchy skirts and under the bump jeans rather than the really 'pouchy' stuff.

eBay is great for maternity wear bargains, stuff tends to be in great condition as it's hardly worn.
