A question if I may? Sorry if I sound stupid!

My partner works in a pub as head chef. As I’ve also worked a few shifts there to help them out I’ve befriended a few of the locals and bar staff. I was going to pop up Saturday night and see everyone and introduce DS to the people who haven’t met him yet.

Now. The thing is I’ve just been informed there’s a band on. We wouldn’t be sat dead in front of them but the pub isn’t huge so we would be relatively near them. Is he going to be ok with the noise? In regard to his ears and eardrums.

I don’t want to take him and risk putting him at harm. He’s 3 weeks and 2 days old.

A once off thing shouldn’t cause any long term damage if it’s not for long. It’s more repeated and extended exposure that is bad.

However, take a look at EMS For Bubs - ear defenders for babies, suitable from birth (most aren’t as put pressure on the head).

Not cheap at £25ish, worth it in my opinion but I’m a musician and had to take my son to loads of gigs as a newborn.

Definitely get ear defenders -- instruments are loud even if the PA is not. This isn't something you want to risk and ear defenders are a good investment anyway.
