In the early stages of pregnancy and preparing for the relentless urine samples throughout the next 31 weeks.
I know appointments are less with subsequent pregnancies but I've got to ask this question, how the hell do i wee in those tiny bottles!!?
I've got an empty ready for my booking in app next week but I'll have to do this at work as the app is in the afternoon.

I just remember last time, constantly pissing on my own hand, dribbles down the bottle and it got harder as I increased in size!! Blush

Humour welcome & any tips will be greatly received!

Haha I feel your pain! Who designed those little pots?? A man, quite clearly
Buy a cheap plastic jug from the pound shop and use it just for that purpose. Much easier to aim for, and easy to pour it into the little pot too.

I used to pee into a disposable cup which is bigger, pour into the tube and throw the cup away afterwards.

My midwife gives me a disposable funnel so maybe try asking if yours has one? Otherwise a disposable cup or pot.

PerfectlyPosed · 11/10/2018 15:26

I get given a larger pot with a pouring facility on it so I can tip it into the sample pot. Or as PP said, just use a disposable cup to pee in first and then transfer?

The little measuring cups that come with detergent? You probably have one already and they usually have a spout!

Oh my god, such simple yet obvious solutions! Why did I not address this in my first pregnancy.

Game changers!

I look forward to not drowning my own arm in urine next week Grin

I have been given both the sample bottles and little disposable cups with spout and handle to pee in by midwife and GP.
Just ask if you can have some for the next appointments.

I really recommend that you ask for more as you may end up having to bring in samples between appointments.

Get some disposable plastic gloves.

Agree with @mybumpismostlypudding I have a measuring cup that came with washing powder, I keep it in the bathroom and wash it out after use. You get one of these measuring cups with every bottle/box of washing powder and it’s not like you actually need a new one every time so they would just be going in the bin / recycling otherwise.
