So had my 20 week scan today. Everything was fine and baby all healthy only concern they have is low lying placenta she didn't really explain much so when I've come home I've Google it. I know worst thing I could have done but wanted to find out what it ment for me and baby. Just wondered if anyone had experience of it?

I had that. It meant less likely to be able to give birth vaginally as the placenta may lie across the cervix. Or that's how I understand it!

I had a low lying anterior placenta in my current pregnancy which moved at my 28 week scan. I was really worried it wouldn't budge and would affect my chance of a natural birth but in most cases the midwives told me they do move so fingers crossed for you too.
You should be scanned again to check around 32 weeks, if not before.

I had this at 20 weeks. I was rescanned at 32 weeks, it was still low lying. Rescanned again at 36 weeks and it had moved and all was fine.

Thanks ladies. Yes I'm being re scanned at 36 weeks. Which I'm slightly worried about as my 2 previous pregnancies I have given birth at 35 and 36 weeks. But finger crossed it moves as I would like to have a normal birth instead of a c section

Iirc 96% of low lying placenta move up by 36 weeks.
I had s low lying placenta with DS2. It was up and away before birth.
