Sending good wishes. Mine lasted 36 weeks so fingers crossed you don’t have it for that long!

My advice would be:
Eat little and often- and what you can. I had terrible food aversions so could only stomach chocolate and Maccas but at least that was something.
Drink tonic water- I started on lemonade but got so bored of it!
Don’t worry about where you are sick, I jumped off so many buses and ran out of so many meetings to be sick.
Try not to punch the one hundredth person to suggest ginger to you

Is tonic water ok to drink while pregnant?

BikeRunSki · 09/10/2018 19:22

Yep, I drank loads

I was having one of my worst weeks at 14 weeks and am still feeling nauseous at 17 weeks now. I went to the doctor's and got some tablets, but not really taking them now, as I'm not throwing up anymore and just feel the nausea instead. Might be an option for you. I found the smell and food aversions the worst to be honest, and I'm starting to get to the point where I can eat everything I used to again, although I'm still not fond of the whiff of garlic and onions, but can manage half an onion in food now (I'm very proud of that!!) The downside is that after only gaining a few pounds in the first trimester, I've put in a pound in the last week!

And yes, the ginger advice was unhelpful. I got crytilised ginger and threw that straight up! Ice lollies (lemonade ones in particular) and lots of iced soda water with slices of lemon, lime and honey worked really well for me, and plain chicken mayo sarnies too. Drinking a cold drink without ice just feels odd now.

Mine lasted until 20 weeks with this pregnancy, and basically could only eat toast for those 20 weeks. Anything else made me vomit. Now 29 weeks and can’t even look at toast!
No advice though as literally nothing worked for me.

stepbystepdoula · 10/10/2018 08:20

It's really difficult, especially when you're hoping it will pass soon!
Dry crackers and polo mints got me through, on a practical level , be prepared, carrier bags and wipes at the ready 💚💚

Mine was awful right up to 16 weeks when it completely disappeared, hopefully you'll be the same. I guzzled Ribena and ate white toast up until then, so healthy! GP suggested I buy ginger biscuits which made me want to hurl but DP enjoyed them. Hmm
